Good Wash Bucket option

Somebody mentioned this in response to the thread on the new wash buckets at Target, so I bought a couple:

http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?CATID=74180&PRODID=71858

For only $15, I'm pleased to say that this item is a great alternative for a wash bucket. It holds plenty of water, seems very well made, and wheels easily around the car. The girt guard type of grid at the bottom, does an OK job of catching dirt, but not enough to get me to drop the two bucket method.

Only disadvantage is exactly what the previous poster noted. The wheels roll quite easily. If your driveway is on a hill, the bucket could get away from you.

I have this bucket as well and I really like it. Mine also came with an attachment that hangs over the rim for me to put my soap bottle in or microfiber cloths, brushes, etc. Maybe this attachment also comes with it when ordering over the web, I just didn't see it in the picture. I actually went to The Container Store to buy mine.

My fat cat likes it too! She keeps jumping in it (sans the water, of course). :)

AutoGeek has a lot of buckets for sale. Are you perchance gushing about this one?

I think you're right. Those other buckets wouldn't hold any water compared to that one!

Actually, I'm going to get one of these Heated Buckets to do my QEW in the winter! Now thats a bucket!

Yeah, I considered that one, but it's also $70 compared to $15. I couldn't envision paying that much for a bucket no matter how good it is. If using the popular two-bucket wash method, you'd need another anyway.

And that logo...

If you go to www.usplastics.com you can get a 3.5 gallon bucket and a Grit Guard for about $13. They also have a dolly for $19. Or you can go to www.gritguard.com, and get pretty much that Autogeek bucket for a few dollars less. I got the bucket and Grit Guard at US Plastics for the $13, and the dolly from Grit Guard for $35 (which does have brakes on the casters), so I got what I wanted for $48...I think a 5 gal bucket is too deep. The Grit Guard dolly was kind of expensive. If I had to do it over, I would probably try that Containerstore one from this thread, since my driveway is flat.

Where can I find a heated bucket? I checked autogeek and container store but I could not come up with one. Thanks!

Werd.

It's a bucket, no way am I paying $70. It doesn't take me that long to wash my car that I need a bucket to sit on. Plus, standing is better for your health. :)

Peace.

I actually made my own bucket/seat/dolly thing. Using two different sized circles of wood i made the top seat part and upholstered it. To get the dolly to connect to the bucket, I made a circle of wood with a 3" larger diameter than the bottom of the bucket and cemented it to the bottom of the bucket. I then drilled a few holes and put the casters in. Works like a champ! Best part is, it was free. I had all the supplies laying around the garage.

I found it at my local Farm Store. Its some kind of watering bucket for farm animals. It was only $20, so I couldnt' pass it up.

I got the picture online. There seems to be a lot of places selling it. I think it's the ultimate QEW bucket!

My local TSC had two heated to choose from- one was five gallons (too big) for $36.99 and the other was five quarts for $26.99. I'll have to keep looking around.

I just got a couple Black Magic grit-trap buckets from Menards over the weekend for $9.99 each :xyxthumbs a good find
