my X's paint is called Knight Armour(gray with pearl)...looking for somthing to bring out the pearl(but as you may notice)depending on angle looks a bit bluer, greener or more gray..

all megs detail, nxt wash & wax, hot shine & trim retsore on all the plastic

Can never go wrong with NXT. I used it when I first started out. I used it on a red Mustang GT last week. The next day I saw it and wondered why I ever stopped using it!

So easy to apply and remove. Looks good on any color too.

What's the difference between the new stuff and the old stuff? I've got a can from November-ish. But you guys are right, NXT is good stuff. The only qualm I had with it was that it turned my car into a dust magnet, but it really made my black pearl paint look darker and more reflective.

I'm not a fan...I would like to have a good OTC product available but I tested it thoroughly on my wife's car and I was unimpressed by the look. It is not very durable either.

Durbaility is one problem I have had with NXT - whether thats the rainy Scottish weather that does it or not, I'm not sure but I dont much use it because of the lack of durability I've experienced. Seems at home on darker colours, gives a nice look to them I find, but doesn't so much for the lighter colours IMO.

Define how you measure durability. The reason I ask is that we often define it by how the surface beads water (hose or rain), but in other threads, some autopians believe that NXT is a sheeting, rather than beading LSP. If that's true, another measure of durablity is required.

Agreed. The hallmark of any Meguiar's wax is that it is intended to sheet water rather than bead (with the exception of #16). I've grown to become a fan of NXT since it came out because it sheets, which leads to a better situation in that I do not have to worry about water spots forming on my black car.

Give NXT another try. I've had two coats on my car since early May and it has still lasted without a problem all summer long (which means heat, humidity, thunderstorms, bugs, etc.). The key is to using the Spray Wax which acts like a booster that will restore shine, increase slickness, and add more "pop" between washes.

I like NXT for its ease of use, decent durability, and it does give a pretty good look as well. I have done a range of colors and it never has let me down.

Meguairs has a real cool trick of just using a cotton towel. Pinch it between your thumb and index finger. Press against the paint and twist. If it squeeks, Its all gone.

I'm a big fan of NXT. The paste may (or may not?) have better durability, but with how easy the liquid is to apply via PC, you can't go wrong. It has some cleaners, and some fillers, which is great for darker colors. I love the way NXT looks, which is why I don't use it that often... I get bored with it because I like topping with a carnauba, and I don't think you really need to with NXT.

The pics look good man...gotta love me some NXT. I'm thinking about using either that or Souveran paste for my newly acquired Astral Silver 560sl. Sadly I think I might go with the Souveran though, even though it's specialized for dark cars.

+1 on nxt being a dust magnet! i definately notice the difference, usually three hours after i wax it, itl have dust all over

Yea man, especially in the late fall or early spring with all the pollen and crap floating around. I walked out there after about 3-4 hours and it looked like it had been sitting in a museum collecting dust for a year...and don't get me started about morning dew. Dust Magnet NXT picking up pollen, and then the dew encapsulating it on the paint. Nightmare man.

But I do love the way it darkened the paint and gave me those sweet reflections (sorry to threadjack abit Mrzee)...

Did I mention that that was before I got into claying/polishing/glazing. That was just a wash/wax. :getdown

With all LSPs that are dust magnets; you should wait 24 hours to let the product cure, then the next day just hose the car down with slow running cold water. It will kill the static charge and the car won't be a dust magnet any more. If you are more professional, you can ground the car while waxing.

I never noticed this magnetic personality of NXT but after #26, my car is a horrible dust magnet - until the rinse.

Dang! Thanks for the tip Bence, I never would've thought of that. I'll have to give that a shot. Usually if it's not wet, I just dust it and QD it, and then come back and it's the same old story...now I have hope. :spot

Very nice, NXT is a terrific retail level product. When I use it on my car, I apply two coats a few days apart and then #16 the next time I wash it. Killer combo. :)
