anyone got any recommendations?

I need something to clean the chrome rims up on my hot rod and something to clean up a SS muffler.

So far, FLITZ has been the clear choice!

I did my chrome exhaust tips on the SC430 and they still look bright after one month!

Tough to find, but can be purchase from online sites like CMA.

Mothers Billet polsih did wonders on my interior dress up pieces, they were a satin finish when I originally bought them after using it they shined better than the day I bought them, can't really comment on chrome but my magnaflow exhaust they did a good job on! Hope that helps

I've been pretty impressed with Shark Tower. I've used it on exhaust tips and the stainless rails on the G-W. Cleans better than AIO but leaves a slick surface (like AIO).

I use Rolite metal polishes as they come in 3 grades, from coarse to medium and then fine.

I have found that the Shark Tower scratches. I used it at first also and liked it until I saw it scratch a section of a chrome wheel.

I didn't notice any scratching on the stainless (hand application, terry applicators). How is chrome compared to stainless?

Ive been a big Flitz, p21s all surface restorer fan for a long time, Try finiding Flitz at a smaller local hardware store like Ace

If you can't find Flitz (yeah, good stuff), there's a product called MAAS that's *very* similar. I've seen it at big-box stores and Target.

The one thing I have found with metal polish is the amazing amount of clean cloths which are required before the metal is perfect.

Use a small amount of cornstarch after each polishing step, when working on aluminum. It helps to remove the black oxidation quick and easy.

This reminds me of the old "sprinkle cornstarch on your waxed panel before buffing" thing that we used to do back in the day...

I vote for Mother's Billet or Blue Magic. The Mother's gives the best shine, but Blue Magic takes less effort to use IMO. I'd have to go with the Billet though.

Wenol Blue works very well also.
