Is their a good carpet extractor which is economical enough for weekend use for the DIY'er? I love the way freshly cleaned carpet makes the interior look and I don’t find you get the same performance from just spot cleaning and vacuum.

Any recommendations? Would prefer hot water as well.

PLMK-thanks.

PS-Most of the searchs I did, found mosty pros use these...

I have a Bissel SpotBot (non heated). I just add hot water to it when I use it (if the situation calls for hot water). You can store it with the solution in it, so it is always ready to go. The SpotBot has the automatic mode, where you just sit it over a stain, and it does its thing. It also has a manual mode with a hose and brush attachment, as well as a powered brush attachment.

The nice thing about the automatic mode is that if one of our pets has an accident in the house, we blot up the wetness, then sit the SpotBot in place, and let it do its thing. For tough stains on car mats, you can spray a pretreater on the spot, and then sit the SpotBot on top of the mat, hit the auto mode, and it will work on the spot. You also have the aforementioned manual mode with hose and brush attachments to do the mats and interior carpet.

Definitely not a "professional" grade machine, but for the average car owner that only needs a carpet cleaner a few times a year, it is great. Plus, it has uses around the house as well.

I have the unheated model and it works great for the family cars I do. It also works good on upholstered furniture, small carpet spills and stairway carpeting. I just fill it with very hot water. The Oxi-clean carpet shampoo is the best product I have used in it.

i got a nice unit from cleanfreak.com...its called an epic...it has a really good suction and is very easily to move around...check it out..

I have the heated one and it works very well for the $89 price at Target.

This mat had not been cleaned in four years and here's what two swipes with the Little Green did:

Here's after a few more passes:

Wow, RTexasF what products did you use with it?

So for the price I could not pass on that Bissle w/heat thru target, none of the stores in my area had it so I ordered online, should be here in a few days and if it doesnt work out returning at my local sotre is no biggie.

Thanks Guys... :up
