Right now Canon is offering an unusual rebate program through the end of the month. If you buy a Digital Rebel 300D (body only or with the kit lens), they give you $100 off.
But here's the kicker. If you buy that camera with an extra lens, they give you $200 off; if you buy TWO extra lenses, they give you $300 off! Plus you get decent rebates on the lenses too.
The deal also works for lenses only, if you don't need a camera body.
They are going to blow out the 300D soon; that is obviously why they are trying to get rid of inventory. I'm sure the replacement will be much better, but the bottom line is mine is only going to cost $479!
I'm buying two quite expensive lenses (each one worth more than the camera) as an "investment" and I look at the body as a relative cheap item which will keep me happy for a couple years. When I upgrade it, I will still have this premium glass.
I figure this is much better than buying a 20D with a crappy lens, and then everything being obsolete in a couple years anyway.
