good air blower

Get the cheapest one possible. I think an air blower is only useful on certain parts of the car and for drying the tires/wheels. I have the 20 dollar craftsman electronic one. I tried an expensive gas one and its really not all that efficient at drying your car.

agreed ^^^ i use the sears 150 mph blower and it's more than enough, and not to mention it's lightweight as well (save some $$ too). i had the 200mph one and returned it as there wasn't a big dicernable difference. it's not like you're trying to blow dirt, sand, leaves, etc... what it is intended for, just water...

It will some of the water off, but it wont get ALL the water off. Even if you got a high powered gas one, it wont get ALL the water off, and it will also weigh a TON. Ive tried both and I ending up returning the high powered gas one for the one BIG AL showed above.

I bought a cheapy at wl mart..it was 26.00 and it does blow the water off very good...I believe its a weed eater brand..looks just like the toro one they sell at Lowes...but half the price....I think it was 150 or 180 MPH...for the cost it does a awesome job drying the car....

in fact the one I have looks just like the one BigAl posted..butits green....

thanks, but will it work to get the water off?

that's the great thing about the blower since it's lightweight, you have a mf towel in the other hand to wipe/blot any leftover water as you move along...

wow...if they are that cheap, im at home depot this weekend. enough of drying it with 5-6 microfibers, i need another excuse to buy another power tool

I've been using an electric Toro two speed for quite a while and find it works well with a few provisos:

-the better the lsp, the better water just blows off. No lsp makes the blow dry a tedious job.

- the high speed setting (200 mph) definitely works better than the low speed.

Cracks, crevices, seams, tires, wheels, calipers all dry off very quickly and the car is ready for the Aquawax/fk425/optiseal/etc immediately after the dry.

The light weight of the model makes the task easy.

If you're a klutz and can't control the tip of the blower, dip it into that plasti-seal stuff to impart a softer protective coating onto the tip.

As I used the blow dryer more and more, I discovered a benefit I hadn't thought of beforehand - the tires are ready for the final dressing much more quickly.

Your suggested craftsman seems to be about the equivalent of my old Toro so I think it'll be just fine and the price is great.

they don't sell that weedeater blower at home depot i don't think (probably not that cheap if they do), so you're going to have to go to walmart and pick one up. they usually always have them in-stock. i forget to mention too... since it's so light, it's very easy to manuever all the way around the car, from top to bottom and also under as well...

I use a Metro Air force blaster for the cars and motorcycle. Blows filtered warm air. Need very little drying after a quick pass. Works great but a little pricey compared to other thing listed here. I think I paid 160.00 shipped.

Picked up one of these from Big lots for $60. (Remanufactured) Blew the water off my cars and the leaves in the garage.

i have the craftsman too. I also wrapped a mf towel on the end of the nozzle to prevent the tip scratching the car's finish.. I also use a Rigid Vacuum to suck the water of the finish. I also wrapped a mf cloth on the nozzle.. worked great.

I'm lucky that I kept some of my tools from my lawn care days - one favorite is the Redmax 7000 backpack blower. I've had it for years now and Redmax has moved along to model 8000 I think. Yeah, she's heavy at 20lbs, but it'll push a brick up a driveway and saves a ton of time and blisters when the leaves fall. Dry a car - oh boy, overkill, but I love it!
