Gold Class Paste Wax

Well,

when Autopia was down, I got antsy and decided to try my Gold Class on the front fenders of the PT(never tried it on this car before!)...

Well...I must say I was impressed, especially for the price, and the fact that it's a one-step product. It gave me a great wet look that was very reflective(not anywhere near Z, though;) ).

Beading and durability are less than impressive. Also, it stains trim and is quite hard to remove.:(

That said, I conclude it as a great, cheap, one-step product if you don't mind reapplying every month. It doesn't look that great in the sun, either(which is why I stripped it off and am trying MG #7/s100 now)...

personally i like the 26 better than the gold class. The 26 has better shine than the gold class imo and lasts much much longer(still not as long as a polymer like #20). In michigan, i can get either gold class or #26 for about 10 bucks for paste or liquid at murrays auto parts.

The problem with #26 is that it's a wax only, no cleaning ability in it. So it needs to be preceded by some kind of polish step.

GC is a nice product for someone who wants a simple one-step for under $10 and wants to buy it anywhere. It certainly is a step up from stuff like NuFinish, Turtle Wax, Zip wax, even Meg's own cleaner/wax.

I haven't used the paste version, but the liquid version is not bad at all. I usually did what Meguiar's recommended, that is, using their GC clearcoat prep, then their deep crystal polish and follow up with a coat of wax every six months with a bimonthly wax. It's a great product for those who don't want to spend too much time and get decent results. The slickness is close to Zaino's, but does not last as long, in fact, the slickness barely lasts a week. Just my two cents.
