Klasse Kit from Auotgeek.net, includes-

Klasse AIO (16.9oz)

Klasse SG (16.9oz)

1 Cobra MF detailing towel

2 Terry Cloth Applicators

2 Foam Applicators

This set of MF towels from Ranney at Pakshak-

(6) 16x16 Ultra MF (2 of each color)

(1) 24x24 Ultra MF (light blue)

(2) 16x24 Ulta-Fine MF (yellow)

(2) 25x36 Waffle Weave MF (light blue)

what do ya'll think? good choices, suggestions, where might i find that stuff cheaper etc etc. Props to Ranney for really hooking up the autopians.

unless you have way more waxes that you can ever use.. I might suggest that you get Glanz Wax along with the order. Or was your plan going to be 1z polishes, then AIO, then SG? If so, I would skip the glanz wax.

As far as the pakshak order goes, unless you are using the 24"x24" Mf for something special (other than wiping off wax/polishes or cleaning windows), I would suggest droping that and getting one or two "standard" mfs instead.

Other than that, it looks like you will be having a lot of fun in a few days. :)

For a little extra $, consider the Cyclo package from Top of the Line. Cyclo falls in between PC and rotary. I had my PC for about a year then have just purchased the Cyclo. Haven't had opportunity to use it yet..........

Anything 1Z in their polishes is great, just get 2 of each and not just 1. Get 1 16 OZ AIO and 1 32 OZ SG. You will use lots more of the glaze than the AIO. Get at minimum, 12 16x16 MF's - some will be in the wash basket when you want to uses 'em, so make sure you have some spares. Buy some Woolite to wash the MF and a gallon of white vinegar for the rinse.

and make a decision on which path you are going to follow: 1Z or Klasse. You probably don't need to dump the dough on both unless you're just trying to spend $$ and keep the economy strong :p

You could easily add the Glanz Wax to the DP part of the order and be in great shape. You should inquire about the WPS (Waxpolish Soft)....I am starting to believe that it is one of 1Z's finest offerings. I would not overlook it.

Good luck...this lot will certainly keep you entertained for a while.:xyxthumbs

I would humbly suggest going with the 1Z Glanz Wax also. If you are using the 1Z polishes the Glanz will go well with them and is durable. The 1Z line is so easy to use it just doesn't seem right....but it is. Hey, throw in some 1Z Lackfinish also....join the rest of us and try it out.

ok, so possibly should get more 16x16 MFs? ill only do one car at a time, and i have a few MF's already. also, should i skip over klasse for now? i have a few friends cars and such i was going to use it on, but if glanz wax is a better choice then im all for it, maybe ill get the klasse later. that would save me some $$$ too. if going with glanz wax, what should i top it with?

There was a great article on the bettercarcare website here's the link.

http://www.bettercarcare.com/articles.php?articleId=29

It has alot of information on all three types of wax, the best(prefered) in each catagory and reasons to use one wax over another.. ie. Carnuba wax vs. Paint sealants vs. Synthetic Waxes

I have followed up reading that article with an order of both Klasse sealants, the largest bottlest of each, 32oz. and a P21S car kit. Which is on sale on the topoftheline.com website reg. $59.99 and on sale for $40.?? ... I was origionallly going to pick up the P21S carnuba wax alone, but when I saw the sale I figured it would be worth it.

ok, let me amend my purchase to the following:

Delux Polishing Bundle from Detailer's Paradise, includes:

Porter Cable 7336SP

5 Urethane Hook/loop backing plate.

Paradise 6 ½â€ yellow pad

Paradise 6 ½â€ orange pad

Paradise 6 ½â€ white pad

Paradise 6 ½â€ black pad

einszett Ultra Paint Polish 500 ml

einszett Paint polish 500 ml

einszett Metallic Polish 500 ml

This set of MF towels from Ranney at Pakshak-

(6) 16x16 Ultra MF (2 of each color)

(2) 16x24 Ulta-Fine MF (yellow)

(2) 25x36 Waffle Weave MF (light blue)

Add Glanz Wax in their, and give me a topper. One car is pewter, one very light silver and my truck is dark metallic blue. the truck is the most important one, so what topper will make the blue super deep and the metallic pop out?

Trade secret from Topoftheline.com or you can go with souveran too. P21 is a nice wax that works good and is easy to apply.

I persoanlly like the look of Glanz by itself. But if I had to choose it would be Trade secret...and it smells SOOO yummy :D

NorCalZ71- I dunno if I'd bother topping the Glanz. I don't think it's mandatory (for decent looks) by any means. But if you want to, any of the "regulars" should work fine- Souveran, Trade Secret, Meg's #16, P21S/S100. Of those, I'd probably go with #16 if I had to pick just one.

Do consider the WaxPolish Soft instead of the Metallic. You have to buy a bigger can for about $25, but it's very nice stuff.

And generally, you can't have too many MFs.

Gonzo- Heh heh, *I* use a lot more AIO than SG, but then I use it on so many things...

Oh, and go try out that Cyclo! I'm anxious to hear how you like it.

Accumulator,

If I have some time this weekend and the weather cooperates, I plan to try it on the wife's beater - a late 80's Mitsu Galant. A few years ago she asked the kid across the street to "fix" the paint, which he did, by hand with TW rubbing compound!. Even the scratches have scratches and swirls. She has graciously allowed me to experiment on that car.......

I did find out on the hood just how quickly a rotary, with wool pad and rubbing compound can cut through the clear (if it has any), through the color and primer layers and into the metal (on the ridges).

I did manage to get most of the kid's scratches out.

I did find out how many RPM are unsafe.

I did find out how much pressure is too much.

I did find out that AIO and UPP do stop bare metal from rusting - going on 6 months now.

All in all, I thank my wife, even if I trash the car in the process. Ill try to take some before and after Cyclo pix, one section with Menzerna's triplets and another with 1Z triplets.

sorry for the ignorance.....but what is a cyclo?

It's another type of Random Orbital (RO) polisher. Some of us are just nuts about them. Cyclo Site

They're available from CMA and TOL and they are really something. But, uhm, heh heh, I didn't mean to throw a whole 'nother variable in the mix :o

Can I ask you what kind of car wash you are going to use? Just wondering since you bought all that and you could buy a good car wash and not have to pay freight

Gonzo- I look forward to hearing how the Cyclo works for you with the Menzerna and 1Z products. Especially how you'd compare it to the PC.

Sounds like your wife's car has been through quite a bit...and I got a good chuckle out of your rotary-based discoveries :D You'll find the Cyclo a lot more forgiving (but also less effective).

NorCalZ71- While plenty of Autopians are *very* happy with the GC, it doesn't have nearly enough lubricity for me. I prefer Griot's Car Wash ($30/gallon), but everyone seems to have their own favorite.

Did I miss it? or did no one mention clay??

If you are going to do all that work, I think it's a mistake to overlook the benefits of clay.

I very much agree, already have some clay magic and i think im also going to get a thing of 3m clay maybe.

its weird, somehow our suburban which sees the most "abuse" (ie less babying than the audi and truck) has the least need for claying whenever i do the bag test.
