Going mobile without a car

Porkanbeans

O RLY?
The new flyer I spread around the neighborhood states "Drop your car at my home or I will come to yours!" This obviously pertains to customers in my neighborhood as I don't have a car. So until September, I need some sort of cart to transport my equipment to jobs. What would you suggest? Also, do you suggest anything else that would make going mobile car-less easier and more professional looking?

Thanks

For 2000 your could get a nice John deer and a trailer this way you could mow thier lawn at the same time

lmao:D What a concept!

If they live in the area it shouldn't be too much of a problem for them to drop it off. Other than that a cart on wheels.

Thanks for the laugh. I really needed it today.

I think I would take a wagon over a wheel barrow(sp?)

You could get a cleaning caddie from target or wal-mart to carry your supplies and a plastic box for your MF's.

Shopping Cart! Not only is it spacious, it makes you look like a hobo too :). Just pour all your detailing supplies into old liquor bottles, and you're good to go. Not to mention the looks on your customers faces when you show up.

On a more serious note, I would consider getting someone to drop you off, and trying to find a good way to organize products so that you can carry them. Believe it or not, laundry baskets are cheap and they hold alot of products. I use them sometimes to transport stuff when I don't want to mess up the trunk of my GTP.

Just to update you guys on what I've done.

I went to the container store and bought one of these

39-1/2" x 19-3/4" x 19-3/4" h

42 gal. capacity

This thing is mammoth! I can fit all but my shop vac in it after sorting my products into plastic sweater and shoe boxes. Since it has wheels, I can lay everything out in it and roll it around the car so I don't have to chase a product down on the other side of the car. I put the plastic boxes of polishes, waxes, sealants, applicators, etc. on one end, PC, pads, and MFs on the other end, and spray bottles and gallon containers (car wash) in the middle.

If you go mobile but don't have a rig, I highly suggest something like this. It has made me look a lot more professional and jobs get done faster with minimal frustration!
