Gmc sirrra 2015 soft paint

did a friend`s black 2016 gmc canyon. pretty soft paint and once the dealer`s glaze wore off it was scratched up to high heaven. car pro essence on a white pad saved the day. polishes, fills and lays down a good primed base for coatings, waxes, sealants. or works well as an aio.

this was pbl surface coating over car pro essence.

How did it work on scratches

Yeah gmc black will haze with a mf cutting pad. In fact most paints will IMO. A finishing pad might clean it up well but may have to go to foam.

One thing I have found to work best on these new black GM`S is a DAT style polish. Such a Menzerna sf3800. Trying to do a one step on these is doable but I have been burned in the past and will only do a 2 step compound/polish. I tend to use Griots Garage BOSS microfiber cutting pad with fast correcting cream follwed by Menzerna sf3800 with a foam finishing pad. Works wonders.

Rocky- was the 15 black or another color? I just swapped my 14 Sierra which had rock hard metallic gray paint, with a 17 Sierra in black. My first black vehicle. I`m really hoping that the black isn`t soft.
