Getting wax out of all those nooks & crannies

What's your method on getting wax out of all those nooks and crannies. My keywords in the search engine is not really working for me.

I've got some on the door moulding and also on the door pillar area that need some desperate TLC. I'm thinking of using 3M tar remover and plenty of Q tips. However, the area by the door pillar where the wax residue is located is more along a rubber weatherstrip crevice so it's rubber & in a very tight spot. A toothpick will fit but.......I'm not sure if this is a safe way of removing it.

Love to hear your tips & tricks

I buy those throw away brushes in the paint dept. Wrap the metal ferrule with duct tape to prevent scratches. Cut the bristles down so they are about 3/4 inch long or so.

This would be a great applicator--what do you use for product removal--3M Wax/Tar Remover...etc...?

"Soft" toothbrush - you know the ones your dentist gives away after getting your teeth cleaned. FREE

SOFT!!!! toothbrushes are awesome. I always have one in my back pocket. It works for everything. Even in the interior around vents and what not.

Just my $.02.

I use a 3/4" x 1 1/5" bristle crevice detail brush.

You can find them at a paint store or most hardware stores

I use 3M "Adhesive, Tar and Wax Remover" pn #03607... works great with a soft toothbrush...another autopian, carguy, posted a thread about using the 3M about a year ago with awesome results on the molding...

I use whittled-down toothpicks and swab sticks with some QD on them (usually #34). I'll sometimes "flag" the tip of the stick a bit so it's a little more paint-friendly (using an X-acto knife under a magnifier). Sometimes I'll pull the cotton off a Q-tip and use the stick to work it into the nooks and crannies.

I used to use by beloved BHBs or brushes like BlackRegal mentioned that're made for antiques, but I think I get better control with the above.

I have something called a gum stimulator that is jus a little soft rubber pick attached to a little handle it works great. Found it at wal-mart.
