Getting some P21S today... couple questions

Today UPS will be bringing me some P21S GEPC, P21S wax, and a couple terry apps and foam apps.

Questions:

1.) I know the wax is wipe on wipe off... but how hard is the GEPC to use by hand? I assume you use a back and forth rubbing motion. Does it haze or something before you buff off with a MF? (I've got a PC if I absolutely have to use it - from what I've read here I shouldn't.)

2.) Will Zaino Z7 carwash cause any problems after I have the wax on the car? I know it contains Zaino polish and was wondering if I should just use some Meguiars Gold Class that I have from a while back until I can buy some P21S shampoo.

I believe this is what I'm going to do:

Wash the car... possibly with dawn... and dry.

GEPC

P21S

Stand back and drool. Hopefully. ;)

I've only got 1 coat of Z3 on the car right now so GEPC should take it off no problem.. especially if I dawn wash first to somewhat weaken the zaino.

Thanks for the help guys. I love this place. :D

I use GEPC, actually S100 Shine-enhancing Cleanser, on one panel at a time and them buff it off. It's really easy to use by hand, I love this stuff.

As a user of both Meguiar's GC and P21S shampoos, I like each one about the same. You can buy a gallon of GC at Target for about the same price as a 500ml bottle of P21S. Thing is, even though they're both gentle on waxed surfaces and clean the same, I like P21S better. It's just one of those subjective things I guess.

GEPC works great by hand. You will love the gloss produced. GEPC will only remove very, very, very fine surface marring. So do not expect more. Massage GEPC in until the product has almost disappeared and use straight line movement where possible. This product works great with microfiber towels for removal and I applied it with a Viking Foam pad ( handle very helpful).

I only use Z7 car shampoo . I love this product on all my cars (none have Zaino presently). No ill effects at all.

Have fun. I know you will love this combination.:xyxthumbs

Is it me or is GEPC and P21S wax the current trendy combo for a flawless shine?

Just wondering because i have just bought some based on what seems to be the majority of Autopians favouring these 2 products for finish. ease of use, and time to apply and remove :xyxthumbs

If you can't beat em, join em. ;)

I think I'll enjoy being able to apply and immediately remove without having to wait 30+ minutes. I'll like it even more if it gives me equal or better results.

Mutilator, GEPC is about as easy to use as any polish can get. As blkZ28 said, it works great by hand....just work it gently into your paint and anything left over will come off effortlessly. Personally, I apply the product by machine, but either way will leave your paint very slick & shiny.

It figures the one day this week I'm expecting something from UPS they're LATE!

Murphy's Law.

Do not threat. If you ordered from CMA on Tuesday it will be there today. It has never taken an order from CMA to get to me in southwest Va more than 2 days. Check your tracking info. If it states that it's "out for delivery" it will be there today. Keep the faith:bow .

Now watch my "out for delivery" from TPIS not be there when I get home.:shocked

Oh I know it's coming today... it's just that the UPS truck is late getting here to work. They're usually here between 9-10AM.

But they do this everytime I'm expecting something lol... seems like they see my name on a box and say "Lets have lunch first shall we?" ;)

Well I guess you know what they say, Good things come to those who wait.

If I didn't have to get this done today then I wouldn't be worried too much... but it's going to be 65 today and about 45 or less tomorrow. Which would you rather detail in? :)

Your getting excited i can tell!

Mutilator,

I feel your pain. It seems that many times my wife has expected packages they are at my front door when I get home. My package? Well most times yes they are there but a few times I sit with baited breath awaiting their arrival. Trying not to act like a "junkie" awaiting his next fix when I sign for the package. Autopia and car detailing can become quite obsessive.

It is already 66* here (work in Martinsville).Mutilator,

where are you in NC?

:wavey

I'm in Raleigh right now. 63* here.

I think my stuff is here now... but the lady that lets us know is off today. Gotta find somebody else to let me in to get the box but they're all at lunch right now.

Shouldn't take too long to use this stuff anyway. Probably what... 3 - 4 hours to wash, polish, and wax?

Life is just not fair sometimes. The package is within reach but just beyond your fingertips;) .

3- 4 hours should be plenty to apply GEPC and P21S wax. Wonderful stuff. Enjoy the experience. :bounce

Thanks Tony (Intermezzo)thanks for turning me on to the GEPC.

Well I finally got the stuff about 1PM... oddly enough it came in a S100 box.

Got started at about 2 and finished at 5:30. Wasn't too bad... the polish took longer than I had hoped for... and I don't think my arms were ready to do this all by hand again but I got through it. :)

I was going to take a great pic for that show your reflection thread but I ran outta light. :( Was kinda neat seeing it get dark outside but the car was getting brighter.

P21S wax was definatly easy to use... just like you guys said... like melted butter. Or maybe crisco. Wiped it on then wiped it right back off. Had a problem with the polish because I started out trying to do too big of an area... you can do that with the wax but keep it small with the polish.

So does adding a 2nd coat of P21S later provide a noticeable difference? Probably won't have a chance to add a 2nd coat this time around... but come spring time I'll probably be a waxing fool. ;)

I really wish I had a garage. :sosad

You guys are lucky. We had warm day here...... 41*. I just got done washing the salt from the last snow storm off my car. :D

It actually got up to 71* yesterday... no wonder I was sweating!

Going to be 50* today and then in the 30s from now until about March.

I thought of something last night... since P21S is a rub on rub off wax does temperature really matter? I would think you could rub it on and buff it right back off even if it is 35-40*instead of 65*...
