I already had it professionally cleaned and it still stinks. I need some tips, and no I don't want to take it anybody else. I don't own a dog. The previous owner obviously had one.

Thanks in advance

If it was already professionally cleaned, you need to find a detail shop with an ozone generator. That should completely remove the smell.

what is an ozone generator going to do exactly?

Try Petzyme from PetSmart.

It is an enzyme cleaner made for pet odors.

I have used it and works well.

Getting rid of the smell depends on where the smell is coming from.

The upholstry on seats? Air vents? Carpet?

If there is urine on the carpet, you may have to pull the seats and pull back the carpet and replace the carpet pad/sound insulation and clean the foot wells.

Good Luck

If it's permeated into the upholstery and foam even enzyme based odor removers won't help eliminate it. Ozone is the only way to go. I've seen some for about $100 on google checkout, about the price of a good cleaning and you can treat it til it's gone.

thanks for the tips. i read about distilled white vinegar. anybody try that?

maybe i can borrow somebody's ozone generator too. :D i'm going to try to hit it with everything including the kitchen sink. all is fair in love and war, and this is war, damn it. :D

If the pro that cleaned it didn't use a good deodorizer he probably made it worse by spreading the smell around.

Smell a few areas to see if any are stronger smelling than others and concentrate more on those areas.

Find a good enzyme deodorizer or order Odorcide off the net. Spray fabric and extract a few times. Respray and let dry. Mist Febreze (encapsulater) on fabric when done.

Always be leary when shampooing dog hair. It might end up smelling like wet dog if the proper steps are not taken.
