This week I will be detailing a friends mk3 gti. The car is red and happens to have swirls and water spots. I'm just trying to make sure I have everything I need for the job. I have gg 6 inch, m105, m205,surbuf 5.5 pads, lc hydros 5.5 3 orange, 4 blue, and one red, klasse aio, gg best in show wax, wolf decon gel,gg tire gel, wheel and tire brushes, gg paint prep, iPa wipe down,cg citrus was, and mixed mf. Also does Volkswagens have hard paint.. Any help will mos def help out.

Ok thank. I'm just trying to learn how to apply the right pressure with the buffer. I did my dad BMW 750 and I couldn't get any correction. The m105 dusted like crazy and the work time was super fast

hares1370- Some mid-late '80s BMWs have *VERY* hard paint, at least as hard as any VW/Audi.

I'd sure do something between the M205 and the KAIO to strip the former's oils. IME the cleaners in AIOs do *NOT* remove them.

Not a fan of the GG BOS wax, but if that's what you have....

Make sure you start off with a 1x1' test area. I'd hate to see another "I spent a whole weekend on a car and didn't get the results I wanted" threads.

What's a better wax

I'd rather use most any other LSP compared to BOS, which IME looks so-so (not that I think LSP choice matters all that much in this regard), isn't very durable, doesn't protect all that great, and...well, I just think "why use that stuff?".

I'd probably do the car with something from Collinite or Poxy or, eh...whatever. Just not a fan of BOS at all.
