Hey Detailing World, Mel Craig here with the latest and greatest news from 3D International. I've had one of the greatest experiences of my detailing career working side by side with Tunch Goren, the owner of 3D international. And, between the two of us, as well as the rest of the executive team at 3D, and some of the best superstars in and outside the industry, we are about ready to launch an experience you will never forget.... Get ready to OD on HD! Get in, hold on, and buckle up! You’re in for the ride of your life! What is it you ask? What are we doing? What are we launching? These are all great questions and, in all my 38 years being in this business, I've never seen or experienced anything like it... Only a couple more weeks, were counting down the days, the hours and the minutes to blow the doors off the industry! It will be one unforgettable, remarkable and incredible experience for anyone wanting the very best this industry has ever seen... This is a game changer!!!

Hey Mel, I can't wait for the launch. I want to thank you and Tunch for having the passion and drive to better our industry again. I thank you for allowing me to be a small part of what is coming up. This is a industry changing event and look forward to see the effects! You have always strived to give your very best to this industry and it shows. Now with 3D and Tunch, you will be able to help more and more people and detailers to take better care of their vehicles. "Detailing Made Simple", Thanks for allowing me to be one of the lead team members on this national testeing team. What a great pannel of detailers and business proffesionals you have assembled to launch this great new program!

Hey Mel, I have to say its been awesome these past couple of months working so close with you and the rest of the testing team at 3D Products! Its been an honor having you include me on the National Testing Team and am so stoked to see something this great finally come to our industry. I have had so many people over the past couple of months trying to milk me for the info on what you guys are doing at 3D... I know the suspense is really getting to a lot of people. Having you join the team at 3D was a great move on their part and now the industry is going to get one heck of a surprise with the launch coming up on April 2nd. I would have to say, with what I do know, this should put 3D in a whole new league!!! Put 3D on top in a big way! Great job and looking forward to the big event...

OD on HD... Has a ring to it, lol I have been using the UNO for sometime now and I LOVE IT! Im excited to see whats you guys got your hands on, I have been extremely Happy with the HD line cant wait until the end of the month!!!

I would hate to think 3D is going to spiral downward into the hype-marketing game, but I'm going to be interested to see what's up.

Hi Charlie,

You are one of the oldest member in Autopia. I hope you know us at 3D by now. We never use Autopia as a platform to Hype our products. This time we are really excited to announce something I have been working on for a long time. With the help of my staff I came-up with a product that will be "Game Changer" in the industry.

A lot of professionals have written many threads in this forum that the detailing industry is getting far more complicated that it needs to be. It was also mentioned many times that the new starting individuals getting scared and quitting detailing business because they get confused. Too many products , too much information, many choices and methods....

I never understood why there needs to be so many compounds, so many degreasers , so many waxes, and so many polishes.....If there is a good tire dressing why have 50 different choices?

Therefore we came-up with an incredible "Paint correction" products that anyone with little or no experience using DA will come up with professional results. We will announce it at April 2nd. This is not a Hype but a reality.

I will never delete this reply. You can count on my words.

Otherwise I will look foolish if I am wrong. Well this is a pretty risky and bold statement...and I stand behind it. In my 25 years career I was never this happy and this confident. So please buckle-up and see whats coming in April 2.

I think the reply by Tunch speaks for itself....this is going to be BIG. 3D is honest, simple, and they stand behind everything they make. Very excited...

Thanks for your response, Tunch, but with all due respect I have to disagree with that sentiment. First of all yes, I have been around Autopia among other detailing industry forums since their earliest days, and the way 3D has run this site over the past few years is markedly different than some competitors run their forums. However I don't think it would be fair to say Autopia is never used as a means to market 3D products -- after all, you and I both know that supporting a site like this is a sizable expenditure; there would be no business case for its continued existence without it generating at least some degree of revenue or otherwise serving a purpose related to your company's business goals.

In the case of this particular thread, however, I look at the way it started (Mel posting a fairly cryptic message and the rah-rah battle cry "Get ready to OD on HD!", followed immediately by two replies from people who have never posted here before thanking 3D for allowing them to be on the testing team, and being equally cryptic while doing so. That smelled to me an awful lot like what I've seen some competitors do (no need to name names here, I'm sure we both know who I'm referring to). Kinda rubbed me the wrong way; I feel that there are other/better ways to create buzz.

My personal experience has largely been that there is no such thing as a cookie-cutter approach that will work 100% of the time in 100% of situations; having different options and different techniques available in a detailer's wheelhouse to cover himself will always be a necessary reality in the high end market.

On the other hand if you're targeting the express or volume detailing market, I absolutely agree with the concept of a core set of products that require little to no thought on the part of the technician to complete his job quickly/efficiently/profitably while providing the level of results average consumers tend to desire and be satisfied with.

Well, at least that gives us some idea of what to expect; should be interesting to see what it does and where it slots into the marketplace. Thank you for the insight.

I have absolute faith in you, Tunch, and I wish nothing but success to you and the rest of the 3D team!

My name is Chris Jankowski and Im very close friends as well as being Mels co-host on The Detailing Pros Radio Podcast show. Mel and I have been friends for many years now. I've also been through Mels training programs, I've worked with Mel over the past several years and he has been a hugh inspiration and motivation for me to grow my company to where it is today! As you may have seen, Im very new to the Autopia.org forum. I got on board at Mels request to join up. He said it would be great to have me as one of the team here on Autopia and Im honored to be a part of it.

I can't get into posting to much on this forum as I have a very busy schedule but, I felt compelled to post my comments due to the success of our testing experiences with the new line 3D is releasing. Im seeing a few people posting to the site saying this is just a ploy for hype. Well, if you think that one of the best line of chemicals ever to be released into our industry is just a bunch of hype then you're missing the big picture. I don't get involved in hype or products that don't work. I have a very successful business and have great respect for what Mel and 3D is doing here.

My detailing business is very high end and I pride myself on the work my team and I perform on a daily basis. Im very happy to be on board the National Testing Team for 3D. Anyone that would like to talk shop with me then please feel free to let me know. I will again say, great job to Tunch Goren and Mel Craig for making this happen and, if it takes getting the info out to everyone on the Autopia Forum on one great product launch, Im all for it... They should share it with everyone. They should let everyone know its going to be available. What better way to let the world know that 3D has just made it that much easier to get our jobs done quicker and simpler which, in turn, will help create additional money in all our pockets! All I can say is what Mel is always saying to everyone, be open minded and open to new business ideas or you will just become stagnate in an ever changing industry!

I'll be interested to see what comes up. I do have to say that while I applaud the way that the site has been run since 3D started ownership I agree with Charlie on how it struck me. Not really complaining but just being honest.

It's not going to be new pads is it? I'm trying to hold back ordering a bunch of new pads from DI because of their spring 25% off sale, but I *do* need new foam pads :P.

Charles,

I completely agree about new members posting and it does draw suspicion.

On the opposing side, I believe there is nothing wrong with using Autopia as a marketing platform. I look at 3D as a vendor like on any other forum.

Never said there was anything wrong with using Autopia as a marketing platform; I was merely replying to the statement that 3D never uses Autopia for that purpose. Also keep in mind that there are a multitude of ways to market products, and some are less "in your face" than others.

My comments were never intended to be taken as argumentative, I was simply making an observation. I've felt for a long time that 3D's practices are significantly more above-board than some of their competitors so I hate to see anything from them that could even begin to be seen as flirting with the more objectionable practices those other companies regularly employ. I have nothing but respect for Tunch and his team, and I truly want to see them succeed in their latest endeavor. If that weren't the case, I wouldn't bother saying anything.

Hi Charles,

I completely get your point and you are right. I appreciate your comments and honesty. Out of 1.4 million posts if we have started one thread to share our excitement about a product that will be a "Game Changer" in the detailing world then we have been bad boys. But these kind of opportunities does not come too often. As you can see so far I have only 105 postings and most of them in the "Sponsored" area of our own forum.

Today I would like to announce that 105 Will be my LAST POST. (INTERESTING NUMBER).

Due to my staff's recommendation I shall not be posting in Autopia anymore.

See you guys in upcoming Autopia Gathering in an amazing location in Miami this summer and at SEMA Show in Vegas...

I wish everyone in this forum big success and happy days.

Tunch Goren
