Last week I ordered from meguiars.com what I thought was the new Meguiars #21 Version 2.00 (#21v2), so today I was excited to see the fedex truck leave a package at my door. I headed to the door and brought the package in to open it. To my surprise there was a bottle of #21, the old formulation. :bawling:

Needless to say I contacted Megiars and I have not heard back from them yet. Their website in confusing about #21, but there is clearly a picture of the new #21v2 when you go to add the product to your cart.

I will update to let you know my progress.

Get this the picture on the website just changed back to the old #21. What is going on? First you read on the Megs forum that the new formula is available for sale and now a bunch of games. They said that it was going to be released for January 2008. When in Janurary 2008 is my question?

The description reads:

"Meguiar's® NEW M2116 Professional Synthetic Sealant" would'nt you think that they are referring to #21v2.

Did you call 1-800-347-5700 ??? I see Meguiar's® NEW M2116 Professional Synthetic Sealant on the web site.

The problem is the part numbers are exactly the same. I tried to get some of the new stuff from my local place but they said First In First Out, meaning that they needed to sell all the old version first.

I guess I've got to ask...

What are the negatives of the original formula of M21?

I searched around and didn't see anything negative and I've used it on two vehicles and so far really like M21 and I'm not quite understanding the need for a "v2."

howareb, if you haven't already, post on the Meg's forum. IMHO, I think you'd get a response from them there.

I am just going to call them. Sometimes with all this technology we forget about the human voice. I will let everyone know what happens.

So sad to hear this. Tht's why I dislike businessmen. Even in our company my bosses would sent out the old stocks first.... And when the old stocks are finished then only they instruct us to sent out the new stocks...... Just my own opinion... :(

Hope things turn out good for you. Hope tht they'll replace the new M21 2.0 for u. Take it easy.

UPDATE!!!!

Meguiars came through like a champ!!! They admitted their mistake on their website and apologized for the confusion.

This was awesome in itself. On top of that though they then stated that the #21 2.0 version was not released yet, but they offered me a free of charge order of it when it is released. Now that is service. :grinno:

So now you get a bottle of #21 and the new #21v2?! I want to do that!!! :chuckle:

Meguiars has always been known for their excellent service. Thats one of the many reasons Ive been a loyal customer.

That's nice to hear that they took care of you. That will be worth the wait. :) I wish I had gotten similar treatment when I had an issue with my maroon pad.

this is a main reason why i use their products as well...

I must be in the minority but maybe their Online Customer Service needs to improve a bit as it takes awhile for a response and in my case, even after being contacted via email by a CS rep, I never heard back from him again after I responded to him. I usually avoid calling unless it's a last resort. Sometimes it's just not worth my time to stay on hold on the phone to deal with a situation.

i know where you're coming from. while many experience good CS, some may not. ALL companies should treat EVERY customer with the same high standards and service. all it takes is one bad experience and they lose a customer for life...

Well to be honest I will have to trust the CS rep on this one, because I doubt that I will hear from then again. But we shall see what happens when the new #21 v2 is released.
