Friend is looking for..."ease of use all around"

My friend is lazy. He cuts corners. Buy's cheap over quality and overall doesn't learn when he gets burned...

He just bought a 2005 GT mustang Mineral Grey (silver, gold) and wants to "wax it" I have tried to bring him over to the detail side and have gotten him to use mfs and dual bucket washing and gold class soap, but he is not gonna do a clay bar/abrasive polish/cleaner wax/LSP so I told him I would ask you guys for a overall generally good wax to use.

He wished for ease of use and looks over protection...

He can not do a lot of buffing as he has shoulder and back problems, but he has sons too that can do a lot of the work. I know this is a hard to answer question. I think the ease of use is one of the highest levels of expectation...and if you could could you give me some applicator advice with you reccomendation, I have to see what i have to give him or what he has to buy on top of the sealent. He also like detailing spray or booster wax idea, so anything that will group with another like this would be a great choice. Thanks..

(I am a Klasse AIO/SG guy, so this will not work within ease of use)

I was going to suggest Klasse AIO!

What about talking him into doing a two step routine.

Klasse AIO and Optimum Spray Wax. Cant get any easier than that can it?

If he's lazy probably has to be something local, I'd say Megs NXT it has a small bit of cleaners b/c he doesn't want to do any polishing.

But online OCW for sure.

I'd suggest Mothers FX wax. VERY easy application/removal. As his car is new, oxidation removal doesn't need to be great, so the polishes in the FX should be able to keep it looking nice for quite a while. It also blends in light cob webbing fairly well, even by hand.

If you want to start looking onlne.... well, that's a much broader range of products to look at!

PepBoyz offers the Long Haul product line and they offer the Polish/Wax. You get a huge bottle for $15 and the stuff actually lasts. It's the best OTC "1 step" I've tried. Thanks, Scott !! :xyxthumbs

EX-P is soo easy to put on a take off. He won't have to sactafice ease of use with a long lasting finnish. Plus it looks fantastic on my sliver Odyssey.

If internet orders aren't out of the question my, uhm, similar friends ;) have been happy with 1z PP and/or MP and with Autoglym's SRP. I even got them to top at the next wash with Collinite.

ColorX. If I had to toss every product I owned and keep one, the one I'd keep would be ColorX. It cleans well and lays down a nice polymer protection, and it's cheap. And the appearance is overlooked; it has a nice balanced look to it, with depth, clarity, wetness and reflection.

I believe that you can use ColorX with proper procedure and keep a new car looking good for a long, long time.

I choose ColorX for this guy over other cleaner waxes because it's a little bit stronger, it seems like he'd go a bit longer between applications. I did a ColorX on the Pearl White Sube about a month ago and it still beads and has a nice slickness to it, and it's outside 24/7.

I'd say Mothers cleaner wax, cheap, OTC, easy to use one step, very effective, looks great, and lasts for several months. I used it on my tundra after washing and claying and that was about two months ago and it still beads like crazy!

I thought about that, but 1) I've never used it and B) ColorX is half the price. But I do like Mom's stuff, and I don't think you could go wrong with it either.

Assuming proper wash and wax technique, or course. The key to removing swirls is never getting them.

Ditto that . . . FX is the nicest OTC sealant that I've used so far. It's insanely easy to use, has decent (though not stellar) durability, and looks pretty good. It's best selling point, IMO, is ease-of-use. It dries pretty quickly, wipes off like it's not even there, and it hasn't smeared on me (yet).

This has been focused on OTC products. What about if one was happy to order online? What would you recommend for a one step product in this case?

how about you offer to clean and detail his mustang every now and then? or maybe detail it, use a good durable product (klasse SG, zaino, collinite, etc etc), and have him do the maintenance part of washing and QD until it's time to rewax/seal?

if not, how about AIO? it can do some cleaning, and it's suppose to provide some protection. and if he likes detailing sprays, get him OCW too, which is pretty easy to use and he can use every couple of weeks.
