Four Star Rim Gel

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I was one that took Dwayne up on the FREE! four star wheel gel and used it on a BMW that I did yesterday. I was overly impressed with the product and how it worked. It is bright green in color and the gel part seems to stick to the rims where ever it is sprayed, and not run off. I used all the normal brushes and it lifted all the brake dust with ease. It is a non-acid based cleaner and I was happy about that. I also brough and used for the first time the Emann Fabrik tire cleaner and that stuff works wonders on rubber.
Now I have to see of the wheel gel comes in gallons. I have attached a pic of the tire, I also coated these rims with a sealant

Looks great , I might need to give it a try . What are your favorite wheel cleanin tools? I need some better ones then I have . For me Wheels are the most time consuming clean or at least it seems like that.

I have quite a few but the ones that I seem to use the most are. A mechanics brush wood handle with the hard black brissles sticking out the end. Another that is long and thin with hard brissles up and down the entire thing. One other that I use all the time is a flat toliet brush you can buy these cheap and they are great on getting into the back of the rims and wells.

:yeah Dang I agree with rollman. What brushes/wheel stuff in general? Do you think EF Tire Cleaner is by far the best you've tried compared to any APCs? In the market for a good cleaner myself. I actually wouldn't mind if the Gel be a tightly bit stronger. Mine is the yellow version however.

I actually like to use one of those foam finger bottle brushes for cleaning between wheel spokes. They're soft and pliable enough to reach into small spaces. I also recently bought one of those EZ Detail Motorcycle brushes to try on my rims. It does a very good job of cleaning, but the bristles have a tendency to fling cleaner back at you when you pull the brush out from the spokes. I wound up wearing a lot of cleaner and wheel grime. :(

Marj is it useful to buy for a bike? I hope you saw my MCoupe Detail as I have pictures of a K1200 bike I have to do.

I haven't detailed a motorcycle in about 20 years. :-p But, I would think that the brush would do a good job with cleaning bikes. It can really really reach down into tiny spots. I just didn't like how it slung cleaner all over the place as I was brushing.

One can never have enough brushes IMO but I have certain ones that I like that always seem to get the job done. I thnk this tiore gel would be great on about any rim especailly spokes!

Dave thanks for the write-up.

If I recall correctly the K1200 is a fully faired bike and looks similar to other sport bike. Which model of Beemer? For a BMW there probably is no need to for the EZ brush, so add it to your Christmas shopping list. I would wash detail the bike same as a car. Even if the Bike is an R1200 the James Bond bike I would still, wash like a car. Start a thread on bike detailing or cleaning and I will post more.

Sorry for the OT.

Eric
