Forgotten Products?

What are some readily available products that have been forgotten? I feel like there are plenty of OTC products that still provide a good punch but get no love because of all the new releases from our favorite vendors. What's a product you really like that gets very little action on the forums?

One of the products I keep buying is Eagle One Wax as U Dry. It has a great carnauba look to it, is very slick and is almost foolproof. The only gotcha is it streaks if the surface is hot. Its even better after the car is dried. The EO nanowax spray isn't even close in looks or slickness. Sure AW is great if you want the sealant look, but if you want something similar to OCW for 1/4 the price WAUD is great stuff.

Turtle Wax Express Shine = before the TW hating begins, inexpensive, great durability, and easy to use (can find it less than $4 per bottle)

Klasse AIO = extremely versatile, great foundation for a sealant.

Eagle Wax As U Dry = secon the original post, easy on and off, nice look, inexpensive

Lucas Slick Mist = my favorite QD. Durability of a spray wax, excellent look especially after it sets up on the paint. Never advertised, but offered at Advance Auto Parts.

Stoners= everyone talks about IG, but their AIO (Speed Bead) is quite easy to work with and had excellent durability

Yeah, KAIO gets no love these days but its an amazing base for a ton of stuff.

Glanz Wax, used it the other day. It had been a while since I had even thought about using it but while refilling my quart sized ONR bottle, I noticed Glanz Wax on the shelf and used it on a truck I detailed that afternoon. Forgot how easy it is to use and what a nice wet shine it has. Haven't pulled the pictures (along with probably 300-350 more I've taken) off my camera but I did take a cellphone picture of it. Optimum Hyper Polish with an orange Optimum cutting pad and Glanz Wax:

long time sicne ive been on here :-) hey everyone. i think my number one forgotten (never honestly recognized as much) is 3m performance finish. still my winter go to. although i did put some fk1000 hi temp on my girlfriends moms white 05 4 runner. I still love color x too, and meg's ultimate quick wax. great looking combo on my dads dark red metallic mazda pick-up. then again, im not sure if those are forgotten or not since this is my first post in months and months. been real busy, full time at school and work :-/..im half tempted to start a " whats new" type of thread.. so i can get somewhat caught up. is there a thread like that already somewhere?

I haven't used it in a while either. Would you use it again considering all the new fan-dangled stuff available these days? Not dissing GW as I think it's still great. Just curious how you feel about it?

good ole' original AA tire foam, works well for the tires and wells...

Good one, another to mention along those lines is the AA tire gel, people are now spending >$20 for tire dressing that don't last. This stuff is ~$5 on sale and lasts for weeks, not days.

I really like it on metallics, has a clear, bright S100 look to it. Pretty easy to use and durable. Opti-Seal is so much easier though so GW isn't something I'm going to use all the time. On the other hand it is nice to change up the routine every once in a while and still know the vehicle will look good and be protected.

If its the original non-VOC compliant stuff, its also great when the temp is near or below freezing. It still dries in a reasonable amount of time. Great mid winter "oh crap, I need some more protection ASAP" type stuff.

What ever happened to Charlie's Soaps, both the liquid detergent for cleaning microfibers and their All-Purpose Cleaner for car cleaning purposes??

Haven't heard any discussions/mentions on this Forum about these products in 3 years.

Malms wax is another product you rarely hear about anymore, with the exception of Accumulator's limited use on occasion from his stash-from-the-past (AKA, Pre VOC-compliant waxes).

Ardex products are seldom mentioned, unless Berry Theil enters into the discussion. It would seem some companies just spend their money on producing cost-effective products that work for the car-care professional rather than trying to capture a huge market share from the general public. (No need to mention names!).

Lastly, does anyone have any of the now defunct Long Haul car-car products left that they bought at Big Lots?? I tried the Bug&Tar Remover Spray and it worked very well. I bought and used the Truck Polish-Wax as a "cost-effective" (AKA, cheap) alternate to DG101 and KAIO upon the suggestion of Accumulator (the much-respected-but-still-haven't-seen-picture-of-his-cars Accumulator) It has been a good wheel/rim cleaning product. I also use it as a quick one-step wax on the bottom sills of cars that are daily drivers in less-than-prestine condition or in the winter when I need a good cleaning wax with some protection qualities. I found some at a local RV store that was closing it out when it was no longer available at Big Lots.

One product I liked was the Meguiars Medallion Paint Protection. I think they had to stop making it because of the voc crack down. I probably have 1/2 a bottle left in the garage.
