Hi all,
This time I worked on my best mates, mate. I just done this car few months ago and he wants to get the car full protected for few years, so he wants to opticoat.
Not in bad nick, but contamination was horrible from the clay bar.
The bad swirls only found on the boot, the rest, can't even see if there's a swirl or not, very hard color to see, but easy to work on.
Paint still original, 120-140 microns all over the car.
Have to say it's a pleasant to work with, paint is so easy, and Rupes work very well on big car.
Took me only 9 hours to finish it, even I done interior general cleaning.
Steps:
1. Wash, 2BM, clay with claymagic+HD Final touch. Wheel cleaned with 1:4 ratio of Chemguys blue wheel cleaner.
2. Masking tape, inspection
3. Rupes LHR21E with LC White pad(recommended, very easy to work with and less heat)+HD Polish(some panel I put a pea size HD Cut to get more cutting).
4. Concours 900 with 5" DAMF Meg's Cutting pad+DA300 compound for tighter spots
5. Interior wipedown with armor all interior cleaner, vacuum the carpets, Meg's leather conditioner, and a brush for AC vents.
6. Wash, foam gun Bilt hamber shampoo mixed with Eraser
7. Dry with Ozito Blow and Vac. The rest using some MF towel.
8. Eraser wipe down and Opticoat 2.0 applied.
9. Fender walls and trim got PERL. Tyres got Zaino Z16 tyre and trim restorer.
