For those of you with digital cameras...

So I have this Kodak DX3900 3.1 Megapixel digital camera. I am not the greatest photographer in the world, and I am kind of unhappy with my pictures recently. For those of you with a nack for this kind of thing, how do you do it? What do you suggest? Any help in the department of how to get a better picture would be much appreciated fellas and ladies. Thanks a lot.

In addition to those lighting tips, if you have the type of digital camera where you can set the film speed (ISO), try dropping it down to a lower speed like 50-65). This often times helps the chip get a better picture, with less noise (grainy-ness). Be careful at slower film speeds though, use a tripod if you can. Better pictures involve better planning. :)



Really, lighting/metering is key and if you have noise problems (which most digicams do, try the above suggestion.) Good luck!
 
i second the above-

it really is all about lighting.

i suggest that you experiment (digitals are great for that, since you can just erase and do over!) with different times of day, different angles, and lighting conditions.

i like to shoot my car at first light (when the sun first rises) with the sun behind me (usually)... once you get this, then shooting into the sun can give nice flares or other effects (if you are looking for them).
