Once again, I got a little bored today, and started feeling some PC withdrawal. I just had to use it...after all, it's been 3 weeks
Anyways, my dad has a 1966 Mustang convertible that's 95% restored...the exterior is complete, just need to set up the ignition and get the interior together.
The paint is red Dodge Viper paint. Absolutely swirled to hell...SO, I decided to see just how good the fillers in ClearKote's Vanilla Moose hand glaze really work, since the halogen lamps show no remorse for paint defects. I got out my PC w/ a white CMA polishing pad, some Sonus applicator pads, S100 paint cleanser, and EX-P. I cleaned the existing wax off the panel (NXT was on there if any of you care) with S100 paint cleanser. I then applied VM to my PC's pad, spread it on the fender, turned the PC on 3 to spread it evenly, then cranked it up to 5 and worked it in for a bit. After buffing it off, I was amazed at how much it hid the swirls. But, there were still some left.
I decided to go at it again with Vanilla Moose. I re-applied, did the same thing, and this time worked it in at 6. After buffing it off, I was very impressed...no more "spider-web" swirls. Of course there were very few minor scratches that weren't hidden (not swirls, horizontal scratches.....gonna have to polish them out).
Anyways, sorry for the long post.....on to the pics!
Here you can see all the swirls!
Working in Vanilla Moose....
The result..
I then topped it with EX-P for the hell of it. Once again, sorry for the long post, I hope you guys find this useful!
