Folex staining or need multiple apps?

Long winded one here, but has anyone ever had Folex appear to make a stain worse and/or take multiple applications to get one out fully? I just bought some for the first time and used it a bit on the floor mats of our truck with no problems. Well I thought I would try it on our carpet in the house. We have a spot in the living room on beige carpet were we think someone spilled soda and never told us. It has been there a couple years. After trying a couple times with Resolve, and also a few passes with our steamer since then the spot was not too noticeable. Well I tried the Folex on it, and once it was dry the next day, the spot appeared worse with almost a dark orange tint to it. I was a bit worried that the Folex had discolored the carpet. Well I tried it again, this time blotting it with paper towel instead of MF I used the first time and noticed the paper towel become a light tan color. I'm thinking the Folex is pulling out the pop, and just isn't getting it in one shot. Does this sound plausable?

Hmmmm . . . I wonder if Folex is pulling out the dye from the carpet. Alternatively, it could just need multiple applications to get the whole stain out. I would try the Folex in an unstained but inconspicuous area on the same carpet to see if you pull color again. If you do then it's pulling out the dye, but if you don't then continue applying the Folex to your stain until it's gone.

Yeah, I did try another spot and it didn't seem to stain it. And I've now done like three apps on the other spot and it does seem like it's getting lighter.

I'd keep going at the stain with the Folex then. It's really a top notch carpet cleaner. It cleans floor matts in a blink for me.

You need to keep in mind that there may be an issue using the Folex after you have already tried the Resolve. Certain carpet cleaners will "set" the stain and future cleaning with other cleaners like Folex may not totally remove the original stained spot.
