I was all set to buy a Simpole Green gun and then saw the post on here about the foamer made for the end of the pressure washer.
Anyone have experience with both?
Yup

It looks as if the PW version delivers a much thicker foam but curiis as to if it is overkill??
Maybe “over-kill for a single detail job on an average size passenger car, however you’ll notice in the pictures that I posted the vehicle being washed is an F250 4x4 Super Cab Long bed.

The use of the PW foam gun placed into the context of “my weekend cleanings is a perfect fit.
Let me explain:
I own two daily driven vehicles that I maintenance clean or detail every weekend.
I live in Florida and 90% of the time I’ll have to wash in direct sunlight……or start at 7:30pm.
I’ll use one of two washing procedures, which depends on how dirty each vehicle is.
(1 for dusty/light dirt) PW Foam, let sit for 10-15 min, Pressure Rinse, CRSpotless rinse (DI Water), drive dry, Z-8.
(2 Heavier dirt/ rainy weeks) PW Foam, hand wash with mitt and soap bucket, Pressure Rinse, CRSpotless rinse, drive dry, Z-8.
I use quick connects on everything, the CRSpotless system, pressure washer inlet, foam gun, pressure nozzle, and I use the pressure washer through the whole of both wash type processes.
It takes me about as long to spray prep the tires and wheels as it does for me to setup the washer, foam gun and rinse system.
For the truck, I need the pressure washer for the big open areas of the fender wells, frame, running boards, bed and toolbox.
The PW foam gun lets me cover…and I do mean COVER the whole truck with a very thick layer of foam really, really quick (photos are Z-7 at 5%, with NXT at 15% it’s crazy thick).
The quick application and thickness of the foam allows me plenty of time to make my way around the whole truck with a soap bucket and mitt, and before the direct Florida sun has a chance to dry it out.
The pressure nozzle I use for the pressure rinse allows me to adjust the psi and fan, so I start with a wide fan at a lower pressure to “lightly rinses the foam areas that I’ve agitated with the mitt and bucket wash, and can add concentrated pressure as needed in different areas.
It’s important to note that I know my pressure washer’s pressure settings and both vehicles very well….I don’t push it, however I do use a good deal of pressure where allowed.
Both vehicles are topped with Zaino which IMO helps them to not collect as much “clinging dirt as a softer Nuba wax this time of year in FL, which in turn may help reduce the amout of micro marring catalysts.
Iv also used the two-bucket technique for years and currently I am experiencing no more or less micro marring washing these vehicles as I do.
It’s probably not for everyone, or every vehicle, but it works great for my needs. :2thumbs:
