it's still not typical "foam" but I guess that is still good.

Rayjay, why do you still use the 2 bucket with the foam gun?

I still wash the truck as i would with out the foam gun, the foam gun helps losen the dirt but you still have to wash the dirt off (kind like taking a shower every day you just don't foam yourself down and rince the foam off you still have to scrub the dead sklin off ) so you stiil get some grit when you wash.

i DONT see how just squirting soapy water on a dirty car/truck loosens it up more than plain ole water. Its not like its joy.

I would think for the same reason people leave their dirty dish's soak in dish wash before the wash them.this helps soften up what is on the plates before washing right.

your pre soaking the car as you would presoak dishes ,clothes even floors, when there dirty you pre soak them.
the foam lets the soap (chemical) sit there longer on finish to losen so you don't have to rub or scrub the dirt off less scrubbing means less scratches

and the bug squash is better than joy its pricless

not unless you can submerge the car in water:rolleyes:

I think the point here is that like Rayjay I use the foam gun as a pre-soak, not to replace the buckets and mitts. I was having a conversation with Beemerboy the other day about foam guns and we were discussing the type of dirt we each deal with. Like Rayjay I have salt and heavy dirt on my vehicles and Dave (Beemerboy) has only light dust. My washes take a good couple of hours with a pre-soaking from the foam gun, Dave can just spray the car, give it a quick wash and be done in less than an hour. There is no exact science for using the foam gun and each person has different needs and expectations from it. Just my .02 :)

The foam was thicker because i opened the air valve on the top of the foam gun

Jeff

I played around with that screw, air valve or whatever it is called and noticed no change in the suds/foam.
