like the title says, i need help coming up with a little flyer.......i live in a high end neighborhood with alot of high end cars and i wanna offer my services to the people who live in my area.....i want it to say somthing like "i'm a detailer who lives in this area, and i wanna offer you my services....this is what i can do for you......." i wanna keep it short and simple.......any help will be great, thanks in advance

sweet todd . . . . . hope you can find it. Wouldn't mind taking a look at it. I have been using flyers for a while and they were very effective for me up until about a year ago then it just got really rough.

I'm hoping things will bounce back though. Another option wouyld be to have some business cards made.

I don't think flyers are going to get you the high end cars, but it's a good start to get some referral business.

well im only going to pass them out in my neighborhood which is high end neighborhood filled with high end cars.......

I'll only post the links because they are a large .gif file:

Post Card - Front

Post Card - Back

I believe I changed the wording on the back a bit before I sent them to print, but you get the general idea. I walked around door to door in my neighborhood and handed them out with a business card, chatting a little as I went. I prepaid postage on all of them so all the customer had to do was fill in their contact info and stick it in the mail. Some did right there and handed it back to me.

Don't bother trying to harass me at the address on the card... I don't live there anymore. :lol

Thank you for sharing that. It helps to a nice simple and straightforward design. I like it.

How many did you hand out and do you remember the return %? Are you still doing this?

I had 300 printed (black and white) and handed out about 200 of them.

I ended up with contact info for 55 customers from returned cards. Half of those turned into details with countless referrals. It helped that another guy in my neighborhood did mechanical work out of his garage for most of the subdivision and he spread the word of mouth around as well.

I have since moved to a smaller subdivision and have considered doing it again with the remaining post cards and a new address label. I still get return calls from my old neighborhood.

I have a detailing flyer template. Seems since I'm a newb I can't post links in replies. PM me and I'll give it to you if you want.

i guess it all depends on where you are located . . . . . you shouldn't expect to see a ton of business from flyers. I mean you would really be lucky to see a 5% return on them from a realistic stand point.

never thought of doing a flyer that way. So how did you go about sending them out?

Did you place them in a envelope and then have the customer send it back to you with their stamp or . . . . ? Interested to know your process as it looks lke it could work.

My rate of return was very high, so I wouldn't expect that sort of response normally. I'd attribute it to my charming personality when talking to people in person.

LoL. :woot:

I'm thinking of having some made like that to try and it get it to the hands of the right people. I still have considered doing that mass mail out through the USPS but that can be costly.

So did you just toss those in your neighbors mailboxes or did you actually mail them?

Also you had it really printed on white card stock or did you use colored?

Hey man why your nat happy with 5%? that 5 will word of mouth advertise if your good to another 10, that 10 will get you even more.

Typical direct mail response is between the 1-5% zone. Keep that in mind if you ever look at the cost of that type of marketing.

Also remember that placing anything in a US mail box is illegal (unless you're a mail carrier doing their job). I handed most of them in person and left them at the door if the resident wasn't home. Printed on white card stock.

See if you can find a local business referral group. If they dont charge too much for membership, I highly suggest getting into one and doing their vehicles with a "little extra". Just dont join one that charges you 500 bucks a year. Usually, those are pretty snickity from experience.

Now for the fliers, try photo-shopping some simple printout trifolds and fold them yourself, or see if a printing shop can fold them for you. This is your cheapest and most cost effective way for people to remember you. They are more likely to hold on to the tri-fold. Fliers are quickly thrown away. If you need help with PS, shoot me a PM.

One more thing, MAGNETS! It's something about science, but, people just will not throw them away. Do you have glossy business cards made? Get some stick on magnets at staples (Like 50 for 20 bucks, i think), make some business card magnets and hand them to highly probable prospects and repeat clients. Most people pop them on the fridge, and that is the number one traffic area of the house.

Market smart. Door to door, mailouts and fliers wont help you as much as internal referrals.

no i'm just saying don't expect to get much more then a 5% return. I'm saying i'm unhappy with it. You might have misunderstood me.

I once made 500 fliers and pounded the pavement in a target demographic neighborhood.

0%

Never again.
