Florida Love Bugs

Our local car wash (not sure if they are nationwide) is offering for $5.95, a protectant to keep love bugs off of your car. Sounds like a scam :doh. I guess there is a sucker born every minute.

yeah, i agree. my favorite is the scratch removers they have on the market. where it looks like someone has keyed the paint and they wipe on some miracle goop and voala scratches are gone with one wipe. i love that stuff

i just found out what love bugs were today, funny how i came accross this just now. all my life didn't know what a love bug was until about 15 minutes ago and then you stated something about it. i from va and we don't have love bugs (at least not that i am aware or of heard of.)

I remember when my dad used to have to drive over to the east coast (Daytona) from the west coast (Sarasota) during love bug season. He'd shortcut through the Ocala forest & by the time he'd get home, he was lucky to be able to see out of the windshield. We'd spend HOURS cleaning off the lovebugs.

When I lived in Lakeland, I NEVER drove the Lincoln in May or September.

Don't miss that, for sure!

Little suckers run rampant here too. They were so thick when I went through a parking lot last Friday I changed my mind and didn't go into the store :chuckle:

During love bug season it's not uncommon to wash 4-5x's a week. BUT the car looks awesome until the next commute :doh
