The thread about the "Heel Hole" in a floor mat got me wondering a little.
Is this a big problem for a lot of people?
The only mats I ever felt I really needed to replace were the ones in my Astro van. In 14 years and 165,000+ miles, I purchased one set to replace the originals that didn't look as good as I thought they should. I also replaced the mats in my wife's 5 year old Baretta when we sold it since they were the only things that showed any wear on the entire vehicle. We'll probably do the same thing when we sell the Grand Prix.
My vehicles don't really get abused, but they do get used. They are driven year round in whatever mud, salt slop, sand that Iowa roads can deliver. Age is usually anywhere from 5 years to 14 years with mileage from 35,000 to 165,000. Most are in the 120K+ range when I get rid of them and the mats are not bad although no longer looking new. I do try to vacuum them whenever they are dirty and probably use Meg's APC+ weekly when I do a wash.
How long does it take you to have mats showing lots of wear?
