Flex/UDM/Ridgid 2611?

I'm new to Polishing and am looking at different options. I was about to order a PC however upon reading endless posts it seems that the Flex or UDM is preferred. Does anyone here know much about the Ridgid 2611 which can be purchased locally at HD?

Also the reason behind me considering a PC is due to the safety reasons and no potential paint burning.

Thanks

PS: primary subject will be a 911 and a Lexus.

I have the Ridgid 2610 and I feel that it is quite powerful and a great buy($129) as long as you plan on using 6.5 inch pads. They offer a lifetime warranty when you register the product. The 2611 is the newer model made in China but it still gets good reviews. I've used the Ridgid with 3m 3000RC and found that it can do a lot of correction. It also has enough power to cause OHC to dust if worked long enough.

I've ordered 6.5" orange and white pads.

Do any of these machines produce too much heat that will damage paintwork?

Should i simply just go with a PC

The Ridgid 2611 sells at HD I believe

The Ridgid weighs 6 pounds-same as a UDM. All these machines were originally designed as RO sanders but were found to work well as automotive polishers.
