Flex 3401 plug melted

I was using my flex the other day and noticed a funky burning odor. After hunting it down I found out that the plug on the flex had melted and when I pulled the plug from the extension cord one of the prongs was left in the drop cord.



My best guess is that the prong came somewhat loose and started arcing inside the plug, melting everything around it away.



Just a heads up guys.

i actually had that happen to the prongs on the weed eater and i believe the culprit was the extension cord. had to throw it out...

Jean-Claude- Yikes, sorry to hear this happened, must've been inconvenient to say the least.



What gauge was the extension cord?
