Hi there friends. I own a black car with soft paint (Lexus IS250) and it has swirls on it. Is there a problem to remove swirls like those with qa Makita BO6040 and how should i do it using Megs producst( the best u can get in Iceland) They are a litle more adwanced but I didnty know how to take the pic.

With soft paint, you want to be looking at light abrasives using a polishing pad at the most, and finishing with a very light abrasive on a finishing pad if necessary to refine the finish.

With this in mind, I would look at using a product such as meguiars #80 Speed Glaze on a polishing pad. For soft paint, slow speeds are the key, spread the polish at 600rpm, then a couple of passes at 1200rpm, followed by seven to ten passes at 1500rpm to work the polish until the residue goes clear, then make a couple of final passes at 900rpm to refine the finish. Soft paint requires a lot of care and attention to get a crystal sharp finish on, so take your time, espeically with the finishing stage.

If you want to further refine your finish, follow up with Meguiars #3 Machine Glaze on a finsihing pad, applied the same way as the #80 above. Again, take your time over the finishing passes to ensure you dont marr or hologram the finish.

The swilrs look pretty mild in the picture to be honest with you. The Makita is capable of speeds in the range of 600 - 3000rpm. There should be a small sclae indicating the speeds infront of the speed dial so you know which numbers correspond to which speeds. :)

So you are telling that its perfect for the job? Sorry for the questions but I am just a beginner and have the detailing bug.

Yes it should work well!

the only reasons I see why more people would not use it is price

and you can only use 6.5" pad or larger because of the fixed plate

^^ As above, these products work very well and will deliver excellent results. Meguiars seems rather underrated attimes, despite some very decent products in their line up. :)
