FK 2180 with the PC

After already laying down 2 coats of 2180 by hand I decided to apply one more coat with the same method I use to apply Zaino. With a PC.

I've always had a tough time laying down thin even coats even though I always try to not use too much product.

I used a LC black finishing pad and just misted the pad with some 425. From my years of using Zaino with the PC, a little really does go a long way. Laying down 2 very short thin strips on the pad I was ready to go. With the PC set at 2.5 I was done before you know it.

I did half of the car and then went back to buff off. Since I have a light silver car,the haze could barely be seen, but came off so easily it was scary. Needless to say when I apply more coats down the road the PC is the way to go.

Now to try my sample of Pink Wax.

The only LSP I do not apply with the PC are carnubs. PC rocks for everything I have used minus Zaino

I also apply 2180 by machine (slow, finishing pad) but use a MF applicator to apply FX-100.

I've never used VM, so I can't comment on that. FX-100 doesn't hide much. It responds very well to the PC application, but I can't compare it to the CK stuff - no experience.

Hi,

If you mist 425 on the pad and apply 2180 on the finish black pad. Wont this have any bonding issue? Does 425 have any solvent in it? I asked, 'cuz I just got my 1 gallon of 425 :getdown last night.

I do not believe 425 has any solvent properties... in fact on some directions FK recomends using FK to moisten application pads.

I use 425 mist with Pinnicle Souveran. Goes on well and removes well also. I like it cause it leaves the car a little slicker. I can't tell if its not bonding because the car is already at it's max shine and depth.
