Fixing haze after repiar

So I had the front bumper on my car repainted, but now there's a few areas where I can see buffer marks where it looks duller and hazier than the rest of the finish. One really in particular where it could have been wet sanded after it was done.:furious: Can this be able to be taken care of one it cures in a few months, or is it pretty much screwed up? Should I take it back or do you all think they would mess it up worse?

Take it back and make them fix it to your satisfaction. If they aren't capable of that quality of work, make them pay to have a pro detailer fix it. No reason you should have to bust your butt to make up for their shoddy workmanship.

I had some paint repair done and the swirling and holograms were terrible. I didn't take it back because I was scared that they didn't have the ability to do it right if they can't get it the first time. Polished it out myself, but everyone who asks heres about the lousy job they did. Anyway, you may be able to buff it out yourself.

That's what I'm going to do. I'm sure they will make it worse since 95% of body shops have morons buffing the paint with a rotary and have no clue on how to use it right. But I'm unsure if I should get them out now or wait until the paint fully cures after a few months. I wonder if waiting will take a lot more work with my PC? I was able to get the buffer trails out of a friends hood that was resprayed with PPG, and I was able to eliminate just about all of it with the 7427 and a white pad.

Did you ever look the shop's finished work prior having them repair your car? I would have thought after all the research you did before hand, that would have been an important focal point? It's hard to believe that a shop that puts out this level of work will know how or be able to correct their incompetence. Do you happen to know if they use 3M compounds/polishes? If so, they need to request that a 3M Rep come out and train their staff. I'm not sure what gaurantee you had arranged, but they should be held responsible or refund you your money.

I did, but I didn't happen to see anything beforehand.:nixweiss I'm not going to let them correct it, like you said they are probably not competent enough. I'm almost positive that they use 3M products, but like most body shops whoever does the polishing needs to learn a few things first. I'm sure I could correct it because I've fixed a hood that had a whole lot worse trailing on it. I may bring it up to them, but not I'm not going to let them touch it since it would probably look worse.

As has been said: fix it yourself. I had to re-polish my whole car after some moron(s) at a body shop decided to sand (buff) the entire car when they only worked on the hood. I was mortified when I saw the paint in the sun 4 days after picking it up. If you know how, just do it.
