First timer setup - Waxing with PC7424 4" pads?

I'm putting together a list of things I need to get started with the PC7424.

So far here's what I've got:

PC7424

6" counterweight (read that it helps vibration in the long run and they are cheap).

3.5" backplate

bunch of 4" orange and white pads from (4^^ Erasure Turbo Kits)

I've read to stay away from the yellow pads, but what about the green or blue pads?

What can I use to apply/remove Collinite 476s wax, instead of doing it by hand? The wax is a brick so I'm worried I won't be able to apply it with a PC7424.

I already picked up some Poorboy's SSR3 and SSR2.5 for the bad stuff.

I appreciate any input! Thanks

Those should be just fine. The blue is actually a finish pad and you might want to check with Patrick at Excel where the green pad falls in relation to the white pad. There has been a lot of talk recently about the different densities of green foam out there and I don't remember where that pad falls in relation to the others.

Using a PC to apply 476 won't be a problem at all. The 4" pad should scrunch down enough to fit in the tin of wax. If not another method I use is a 1" plastic putty knife to "butter" the pad with a small amount of the wax. Applying 476 thin is the key to easy removal.

As much as I like using a machine to apply waxes and even most sealers, to remove them I just buff off by hand with a quality MF.

Thanks for the reply, its given me much more confidence to go ahead and make the purchase.

I'll send Excel a message to see what pad they recommend using to apply the 476.
