First time with a PC and Poorboy's today

Porkanbeans

O RLY?
Well, I received my package from PAC yesterday and in it was ssr2.5, ppp, ex-p, natty's, s&w, nl, #39, 2 pva applicators, UGE, and 4 Edge pads. Today I started on my dad's E320 for the first time with a PC and good quality products. It's a 2000, but it has absolutely NO paint defects. Judging by how my dad is on his cars, that's pretty damn impressive. So today I didn't need to use ssr. PPP was the first to go on to prep for sealing. After getting used to the PC and 1 large product fling :brick , I got into a groove. Just a little bit of PPP panel by panel, then I buffed it off. It was fairly easy to remove, as I applied thin layers, and left a really clean surface. Then I put on a layer of EX-P. This stuff comes out of the bottle like it's on fire, so I ended up using about 1/5 of the bottle on the car. Eek! But anyways, the EX-P is on for the night, and I'll wake up tomorrow to buff it off and top with Natty's.

I did the interior first thing today as well. #39 is a great product. Coffee, dirt, scuff marks, you name it, came off with moderate to minimal effort. I love Natural Look. It left a satin surface but was slick and new feeling. I'll definitely purchase that again. UGE was used on the wood trim.

I will post some pics tomorrow after I put on a layer of Natty's.

Sounds like a success...curious, you're leaving the EX-P over night to bond?

I was wondering myself if Poorboy/Steve had done tests and found if letting the stuff stay on made more of it "bond" than if you wiped it off a few minutes later. I am letting my sealants bond for 2-3 hours usually before wiping.

Of course, the wiping part may be irrelevant; I know everyone says you need to wait 24 hours before additional coats go on. But I do wonder if letting the stuff stay on (maybe even 24 hours ??!!) is the best of the best....?

Yeah, I'm leaving it on for the night so it'll be more durable. I heard leaving it on longer will do this, so I'm trying it out. It would be neat to try this on a darker colored car to see a really dramatic difference. Hmm, maybe the dark green Tahoe next weekend. That has some swirls SSR will cater to. ;)

I just finished the layer of Natty's and got some great sun shots. EX-P worked wonders on it. The metallic flake pops like crazy. Natty's makes it really slick and brings out that awesome paint. I'm really pleased with PB products, and I intend to order a lot more in the near future.

Process:
Vacuum and spot clean carpets
clean and dress interior (#39 and NL)
Invisible Glass
PPP
EX-P (on wheels too)
Natty's this morning
DuPont teflon tire shine on tires and wheel wells

Here are the pics. 1st pic is of the products I used that I got from PAC (-SSR2.5). The 2nd is yours truly putting on Natty's. The rest are finished product shots. Enjoy!

Here are the rest. I don't think I got a good shot of the flake this time around so I'll take some better ones later.

very nice work...how did your dad like it? I'm sure you are glad to have the PC now;)
I'll ask before anyone else...how was removal of the EX-P after sitting all night?

Thanks for the compliment Steve. My dad was ecstatic. He'll have the most envied car at work now. ;)

The EX-P was remarkably easy to remove this morning. Most of it came off with one pass. I wish I had this much time to let it sit with each of my details. EX-P + Natty's is a killer combo on this car. I was just at Home Depot and it was getting looks from everyone walking to and from the store. I'll definitely be a Poorboy's customer for life. :bigups

Me too. Nice work on the MB . When you get a chance try the velcro backing plate and a 7 1/2 in. pad . You can cover more area and snug up to the hard to reach places without worry of the plate damaging the surface. Great job again . Using the PC is my fav part of the detail.

That looks great. The first time I used the PC I was nervous and then amazed at how well it worked. Your dad must be very happy!

One suggestion: Have the power cord for the PC go over your shoulder. It looks like it is resting against the paint and if it picks up any dirt, it could scratch the surface.

I've only used Natty's but I am really tempted to try the other products. Haven't seen questionable results yet!

Great work!

EX-P/Natty's is a solid combo on pretty much every color.

I like your little product holder on the wall :)
