First time Using a Carnuba

I swear I can't tell that much of a difference. I know my paint's not perfect (will work on that when the SSR and the UDM gets here next week), but can you guys tell a difference between the pics?

Always hard to tell from pics the differences made by a wax, there's a good shine in the before and after pics...

The vasy majority of the beauty of the finish will come from the polishing stages - this is what gives the depth, and the clarity to a finish. A wax will add its own nuance to the finish, some will add gloss (Victoria), others wettness (CK, Swissvax) - but the difference will be small compared to the polishing results.

Thanks. I was seriously beginning to wonder what all of the fuss was about with paste carnuba's. Now I'm even more anxious for the UDM to show up.

Spend some timing learning machine polishing and you'll be rewarded with the results - then top with a wax and you'll be able to get the best of what a carnauba has to offer... With some waxes by the way, layering does help also - a couple of layers 24 hours apart... What wax did you use?

Nice car by the way - we get the GTO over here, badged as a Vauxhall Monaro in both 5.7 and 6.0-litre guise... very nice cars if you can afford the fuel for them over here. :D

The carnuba is from a company called Tropi-care. They got great reviews from some members of another forum I belong to and I decided to give them a try. I think using a machine would have made a tremendous difference as well as a little bit better weather.

Man affording fuel for it here in the states isn't easy. Do you guys also get the Maloo? What I wouldn't give to have a LHD Maloo here in the states.

I've heard of Tropi-care and like you have read good things about it but have never personally used it, its not avaiable in the UK... I've used many many other waxes though and been impresed by them, Clearkote and Victoria waxes appeal to me in the "sane money" bracket - the Clearkote Yellow Cream wax followed by Carnuaba Moose Wax gives a lovely wet looking shine. Perfect to top off well machine polished paint. :)

We dont get the Maloo over here, only the Monaro (GTO) - and that's just been replaced by the Vauxhall VXR8, which is based on the Holden Commodore Clubsport R8 - its certainly louder than most other cars in the UK! :D Would be cool to see the Maloo here, supercharge the big V8 and it'd be a pick-up that'd scare off most sports cars! :D

Wish I could afford the fuel - I just filled my tank (diesel), cost me £0.97 a litre, ~$7.10 per US gallon. Premium unleaded is more expensive... Thank god my Volvo S60 D5 gets 40+mpg...

I really love the look of carnuba, but I hate that it usually loses it looks after more than wash, and has horrible durability.

I feel that most synthetics give a "crisp" shine where as carnubas look like they just are melting the paint off (in a good, reflective way :))

I honestly don't see much of a difference in the pics, but the car looks good for what you have done. Polishing really is the most crucial part rather than the wax.
