i normally only detail my cars so durabilty is no issue so i usally stick only to carunaba, but today i did the girlfriends explorer and used ssr2.5 then one coat of upp. the explorer is silver and im very impressed with the look of just the first coat. should i put another coat ot upp then s100 or just upp or just s100?

I'd put another coat of UPP. You will get the spots where it was applied thinly and get a more uniform coat. Then wax away!!!

I recently used UPP for the first time on a friends silver car and was very impressed. It works very well topping AIO.

I applied with an Edge Ultra Fine Finishing Pad and only used about half an ounce for the whole car.

You will get various opinions on this and here's mine.

1. My initial application after polishing is usually 2 coats of UPP with 24 hours between them. The second application is to be sure I didn't miss any places the first time. It also seems to add something to the appearance, but that may be all in my head. :)

2. Once a month, I try to add another application of UPP. Easy to do and keeps things looking good.

3. When I used S100 over the UPP, I didn't really feel it added much if anything. The main reason I don't add the S100 to the mix anymore is the fact that I can't add more UPP unless I use a cleaner/prep again to remove the S100.

Yep, upp is great :) My car had AIO+UPP the other day, now I'm waiting for my 2nd coat to dry. I must say I am very impressed.. throw in another coat just to make sure you didn't miss anything.

No point in topping UPP, you will loose the slickness and the pop that the product provides IMO. I tried topping it with several waxes and it never looked as good as it did with just UPP. Ofcourse there were 3 coats of UPP =)

Yeah, I wanted top another layers of UPP, but no...I have s21 on it:(
Oh well, gotta wait till June then I redo entire whole nine yard.

Since you already have the P21S on the vehicle, why not go ahead and add P21S whenever you get the urge to do something to the car.

FWIW, Klasse AIO topped with S100 Carnauba, (Same as P21S???) looks good and IMO would be an easy thirty day product combination.

While I haven't tried it, I do trust TW85...he swears that Paste Glaz does not diminish the slickness.

I agree with TW85. I don't think I lost any slickness topping UPP with Paste Glaz. The only thing was the inability to add more UPP without going into great "detail." Here's a pic of Paste Glaz on top of UPP x 2. My pictures don't really do things justice, but it's all I got.....

i just added another coat of upp. if i used adams blillance glaze could i top with upp when needed? or will the upp not stick to it

So some say to top UPP with wax, others don't. But isn't UPP a wax anyhow? So why top it with another wax? Or for those who top with wax is it just for more protection?

UPP is a sealant, not a wax.
And I'm not going to get into explaining the difference. :)

Many people think that topping UPP with a wax improves the appearance. I'm not one of them.
And yes, I have tried it. :)

Do your swirl removal, apply some Klasse AIO, put on your UPP, stand back and go Wow! In 24 hours do another application of UPP. Every month do one more. Use 4 Star Ultimate Gloss Enhancer weekly and people will think you are driving a new vehicle. I have been asked if I got a new van when giving someone a ride in my 7 year old, 145,000 mile Pontiac TranSport. Kinda makes the effort worthwhile. :)

Are you thinking of using Brilliance as a QD inbetween detail or washes? I don't know how much Brilliance would strip off of the UPP. Might be a question to shoot Adam. I would suggest using the Detail Spray or another QD if that's your intent. As far as bonding to the Brilliance, I think it might sacrifice some of the life of the UPP. :dunno There's only one way to find out if you like it or not....give it a try!! :) And then let us all know how it turns out.

Ahh, you're so kind.

On a serious note, considering Paste Glaz is, for the most part, no longer available, I would not recommend topping UPP. Only Paste Glaz and Souveran have retained the slickness of UPP and on light colored cars, Souveran is just too expensive. And yes, I do think PG and Souveran enhance the look of UPP.
