First Time Posting a Pic! Mercedes CLK 320

Hi guys

I've been posting on Autopia for a while now and have never uploaded a pic because I don't have a digicam.

The client I worked for snapped a couple of photos and e-mailed them to me so I can now post them!

Plus, you'll see an ugly mug shot of me after a sweaty day of detailing ;) My head looks larger then normal for some reason! :p

Anyway, I used DACP, VM, EX-P, Natty's. Tires were cleaned with EFHI 1:1 and dressed with No Touch. Wheels were cleaned with my favorite Detailers Paradise Gel wheel cleaner and waxed with old school Moose Wax.

Sorry no interior shots. Enjoy!

Spilchy,

If there was *any* doubt in anyone's mind of the quality of work you do, it most certainly has been put to rest now by the pics :bow

Did you apply the No Touch with an applicator? I've found if you spray those kinds of tire shines directly on the tire, unavoidable overspray can stain driveways.

Bill, you mean like those 4 spots over there...and over there...and over there? I guess if I was in somebody else's driveway...I'd have to use an applicator...

Awh shucks Bill :o

I figured, with all the "advice" I dispense, I better a get a pic up there ;)

I know GSRstilez will yell at me because it isn't in the sun :p but I didn't take the pic!

As far as the No Touch (my favorite - 4 cans for $9 at Costco) I spray directly on the tire. I am good about aiming it properly to prevent sling on the wheel (I wax them after anyway). Regarding the drive way, I have 4 rags devoted for this purpose. I put them under each tire and fire away! The residual product drips on to the rag catching it all.

You should see my driveway, it is COVERED in overspray stains! It's almost like modern art!

As far as overspray going on to the paint, I have a home made invention to prevent it that I am actually looking to build a prototype for. :D

PS, after this detail a neighbor asked if I could detail his fire engine red $134,000 BMW Z8 :xyxthumbs

LOL! Try to get a pic of that some time!

hmm..yep the rags always work, I do the same when applying EK to wheel wells ,sometimes it can still drip here and there in spots you can't reach even after you spread it well.

Keep up the great work!

That's water and shadows dude.

I am EXTREMELY careful when it comes to other people's property. My Autopian standards extend to proper cleanup and care regarding my work.

Spilchy, looking good! Quick question. Who makes the tent?

Thanks :up

WalMart $99! 12x12

Takes me 90 seconds (timed) to open and 30 seconds to close!

It's cake! And the best accessory purchase I bought.

It's fairly durable and rigid. Definately worth a purchase :up

I don't wanna hear the excuses about it wasn't your camera...JK :D

Nice work...Looks very very wet!

How do you like Natty's on metallic paint? compared to P21s?

The tent looks like it's working great...Is it on wheels? What kind of car is it fitting into when taken down?

We gotta get you a Digi...I love seeing work from various users.

Again, excellent work!

nice work on that benz. :)

if you have a regular camera, you could get the pictures put onto a CD. i think Scottwax does this. or you could use a disposable camera. but then again, that does mean you have to take 24 pictures. :p but i want see pictures of that fire engine red Z8! :D

I find that Natty's and P21s are roughly the same on the lighter colors. I have used them on silver, white and tan/cream-like colors. Both make the paint brighter and clearer. Both are a breeze to apply and remove. The two differences are the price :p and the fact that you can apply Poorboys in blazing hot sun.

I applied the EX-P to the hood in blazing sun and let sit for 30 minutes and it wiped off with zero effort and left no streaks or smears.

The tent is working great. I put those wheels on it. I bought them from home depot. It doesn't roll very well, but I'd rather scrape up the cheap wheels than the actual tent posts.

The height you see there is the lowest setting. In fact you can go 2 more notches higher! I have only used it so far on cars, not SUV's so I can't say for sure what can and can't fit under it regarding larger SUV's and minivans.

Marty, I did not remove the wheels for the moose wax. Just applied with a terry applicator, allowed to haze, and buffed off with a cheap MF.

No offense meant Spilchy, I was talking about MY driveway! :doh

BTW Spilchy, what happens to that tent when the wind blows? I was tempted to buy one...but was worried what the neighbors down the street might think if we had one of those windy thunderstorms and my new "parasail" came thru their yard...

Thanks for the clarification :)

As far as the wind, notice I have it next to the grass. I have stakes that go into the ground to hold it down at least on 2 sides. (I didn't use it in this case though)

Also, it's fairly well grounded due to it's weight.

I'm just waiting for that really windy day when I'll have a problem! Maybe I'll pick up a weight or something for the other posts that I can't hold down with a stake.

Nice job!:xyxthumbs

It's not that easy to get awesome shine out of an older silver car, but I can see that's no problem for you!

I also want to see pics of that Z8!:D

Keep up the good work!
