Looks great Thomas. Makes me want to go out and put a coat of Pink wax on something just for fun.:D Car looks really good. Do you get any wear issues with the rear tires? Did you find the rotary wants to go where it wants to go, or am I doing something wrong when I practice with the rotary!

travisdecpn - thanks!

I have to see the car under the sun to see what I really did:D (roof/hood/trunk are ok, after that it got cloudy)

Thumper - Thank you too! No more trying to remove swirls with the PC... ever! :D

It wasn't hard at all, except the vertical areas needed a bit more muscle to control. My first time was really to see what it felt like. On the shady side while detailing I missed some spots that I saw at the supermarket parking lot. No biggy.

SpoiledMan - thanks! Both products are great.

No wear issues with the tires.

My experience was very pleasant with the rotary. Even using these huge Edge pads I managed really well. You have to use enough product to keep the pad smooth. A very good first experience.

With the temp dropping all of the sudden in the middle of the detail IP ended up acting a bit fussy. I love warm weather and can't wait for it!

I do have to do the FK1 contemination bath - tons of waterspots!

Glad to know you used Edge 2000 pads. I'm trying to get some myself for my rotary (Makita 9227C). I'll ask for advice when I get 'em :bounce

Looks pretty good, though I'd really like to see some sun shots if the weather cooperates with you. :)

You will Scott! :D I know that the hood, trunk and the roof looks swirl free but I do have waterspot issues everywhere.

The other parts of the car was worked on with a cloudy sky so god knows what I did?! I think I should have changed pads or clean the one I was using before I started on the doors.

In anycase I am very relieved because it isn't that hard to use a rotary. I'll never use my PC to remove swirls/scretches from now on.

I started on the trunk and did one half of it and in about 30 seconds at 1200 rpm there were no more swirls. I will need to get smaller pads though. ( I have these 9" pads!) They are huge!

They are good but huge! I want to get smaller ones for tight areas or just use my PC pads from Edge.

My Makita has a 16mm thread so the flexible backing plates that have a 5/8" thread won't work. Edge 2000 is the only one that has this and their system just makes sense. I especially like the fact that they show the number of pores per inch for each type of pad.

Btw, did you tilt the rotary or did you keep it flat (like the video) while working on the hood/trunk? How about the quarter panels and the doors?

Thanks! :)

The sun'll come out...

Tomorrow

Bet your bottom dollar

That tomorrow

There'll be swirls!

Pullin your chain, looks very good esp. for first time at bat w/rotary..

I'm glad to see more people are picking up one. They are not as bad as some folks make them out to be and are not very difficult to use/master.

Easy and powerful, but a moment's inattention and they will rip you a new (you know what)! If ever the autopian rule (start using least aggressive, then get aggressive) applies, it is with a rotary. Always remember to let the pads rotate OFF a crease line or high point and NEVER into it!

Great work!

Looks great!

You get better at it and you'll have to teach me! I've been wanting to learn how to use one for a while.

The PC just takes too long...
