First "real" detail

This is my first real detail. I've played with the PC and various products, but this is the first time that I spent 2 days polishing, layering, and waxing. Overall, I'm pleased. I just need some different products that really bring out the metal flake in my new car.

I started off with a ONR wash. Followed by SSR1 on a SFX2 pad, VM on a SFX2 pad, EX on a SFX3 pad (all done with PC). Let car sit overnight and cleaned today with ONR QD mix and a coat of Natty's by hand. Wheels were cleaned with ONR and then a coat of Wheel Wax. Tires with ONR and 303 with a MF applicator.

I like the results as far as paint slickness and gloss goes, but the metal flakes are muted somewhat. I still think it looks good, way better than it ever has :buffing:

ONR really seems to mute the metal flakes? After the SSR1, the flakes looked great. VM also brought them out and looked very deep and wet. EX seemed to mute them more, and the Natty's didn't make any difference in them at all to the metal flakes. I need to try the EX-P next time, or maybe just go straight to the CMW and skip the PB stuff (save it for the wife’s red Santa Fe).

On to the pics! Sorry about the brown grass, we are in water restrictions... that is why I used the ONR!

ONR shouldn't mute the flakes at all, EX doesn't either but it does deepen the color coat so the metallic isn't quite as apparent. What you might want to consider in the future is EX-P, which has a more clear look. Regardless, your car looks really nice. :)
