I don't know if this is the right section, if it's not I apologize.
I'm looking into purchasing the Porter Cable 7424 & PoorBoy's World Paint Care Package (Porter Cable 7424 & PoorBoy's World Paint Care Package - New Arrivals) to use on the vehicles here and I was wondering if there is anything else I would need to purchase or if there is anything recommended to go along with this?
The first vehicle I'm going to use this kit on is a 1996 Chevy Suburban... Which I can honestly say the paint was not taken care of by the previous owner and I'm not off to a good start. On a scale of 1-10 10 being the best right now it rates a 3-4 the paint still shines & Cleans up well and you can see yourself in it but there is alot of swirl marks, marring, deep scratches that need touch up paint or re-paint ect.... So before I get it re-painted which I fully intend to I would like to get the best out of what is left.
The SUV is a DD & does not get parked in the garage so it's exposed to all weather all year round I live in the Chicago area so the winter & summer months can be harsh! So here's the questions
- Will the kit do it for me or will I need something else? More aggressive?
- What order should the product be used in and with what pads? I'm a little lost with the terminology!
- Since it's a 1500 Suburban will I need to order more product so I have enough to finish?
- Can something be recommended for the chrome bumpers?
Thanks for the help, I did some searching and didn't find the answers I was really looking for so I made this post. Thanks
