First PC "detail" - 97 Acura TL

Well, I've had my PC and pads for a few days now, thanks for those in the Machine Polishing section pointing me in the right direction, I'm very happy with everything so far. It took a while to get the hang of it enough to get some swirls out, but I think I am catching on fast.

1Z Extra Paint Cleaner - Yellow Pad

1Z Paint Polish - Green Pad

Klasse All In One - Blue Pad

Klasse SG - By Hand :p

Heres what I had to start with:

It's only around 10 degrees outside right now, so me and my friend went for drives, and heated the cars up, and parked them in the garage for some heat, it works really well.

I tried the PP with a green pad first, it didn't make a dent in the swirls. I figure it just got off most previous applications of AIO and SG (a few coats).

Next was the EPC with a green pad, it helped, but still left a lot of swirls, so I moved up onto a yellow pad. Worked pretty well, I could have gone over everything again, but that is being saved for the spring.

A picture of my friend taking a picture, reflected off my hood:

I really liked the color in this picture, I hope you do too :)

All in all I learned a lot with it today. I started out using way too much product, and slung it all over the place. I need to detail the PC now :o I started out not getting the speed up past 3.5ish also, but by the end I got it all the way up to speed. I can't wait to get some better weather and do a whole car :) I am already planning on buying the whole PB SSR line.

Lookin good...I'm likin the last color shot...When do we get full-outdoor shots :D?

Haha, well, its been below freezing lately, and is supposed to be for a while, and some snow on and off too. I only did the hood today, I just had to try it out. Once it gets washed I may put a coat of something new on there. I ended up with some #26, so I might try that, but really want some #16.

The high temperatures, next 10 days:

16,20,21,27,28,39,33,33,36

Maybe I'll wash it when/if it gets up to 39...

The last picture shows the infamous SG streaking/hazing. Nice job though.

Yeah, I was in a rush and applied it way to thick. I also didn't get right up to the edges because I did only the hood, the rest of the car is covered in crap right now, so I didn't want to contaminate my pads or anything. Hopefully next time I will take more time, and go with a thinner layer and avoid the streaking, or maybe try out the #26...
