Looking to do my first detail on the new car. There's just so much stuff you can by so I'm just going to pick up a kit and once I get the hang of it i'll start experimenting with other products.

I was looking at getting the PC Wolfgang polish and protect kit.

What else would I need to pick up. clay bar? wheel stuff? any recommendations guys.

or should i just get the PC only...and you guys can recommend something for me to get. clay,polish,sealant/wax

The Wolfgang line is a real good product line, are you saying that you are going to buy a PC with this kit? and if so threw who..autogeek!

one other question i had....i bought my car with the resistall package(dont flame me! i got a really good deal on it ..150 bucks) i mainly got it for warranty on interior.

it currently has a resist all sealant i believe. Do i need something special to remove it?

I'm not sure what that is...can you find a link to the site that talks about it? Did they give you some care instructions with it?

That will tell me what to do next

I looked this up online...its a polymer sealant...there is nothing special about it IMO...if you wash and clay the car, them polish..my guess is it will be removed with that...then with your WG line apply their sealant...you could also just apply the WG sealant on top of what you have now...do a panel and see how that looks...IMO...it will look pretty good...but for peace of mind...wash and clay will take off what you have on there already

so these are the steps i would take..correct me if i'm wrong or something needs to be added

1. car wash (meguiars nxt)
2. clay (not sure which clay yet)
3. polish (WG total swirl, finish glaze, polish enhancer)
4. sealant (WG deep gloss sealant)

1..correct
2..correct
3..I would use just the PE or FG...not the swirl remover..this is a brand new car..it should not need a SWR at this point..also your polishing pad is what is needed here
4..correct...by hand!

Fro clay when you order your kit, Troy has clay for sale no problem..

well since i don't need the swirl remover yet why buy it.

what about these products.
PC, Meg NXT wash, Meg Colorx, and Meg NXT 2.0
i can save myself more money by not buying the kit since the kit comes with stuff i won't use yet.

btw. thanks alot beemer, you're a great help =P

I've not worked with the ones you've listed...but if you want to buy just what you need..IMO

I would look at PB..get his polish with sealant...one of his glazes (can't recall what color you said your car was)..and EXP...you ca also get some MF towels from him...he also has clay and the QD spray that you will need.

Best thing there is to call Steve so that he can direct you on his line, but that's my guess as a starter kit.

The PC can be bough at a lot of places online...the only suggestion is that you buy it as a kit..meaning backing plate and pad combo..comes out much cheaper in the end

ordered all my stuff I should get everything on monday. Will start the detail next saturday...will takes pics and post when i get em!

question: when claying/polishing...do you do the ENTIRE car from top to bottom.

Its really only important that you start top to bottom when you wash...this way you are forcing the dirt down, and not running dirt over lower panels that you have already cleaned.

With clay and polish the car is clean so where you start is not as important...I start on the hood and then work down the drivers side of the car, to the back, then cover the trunk lid...then over the top of the car...then back to the front again at the driver side front bumper, and head around and down the other side of the car and wrap around the back bumper....just a method that I use to make sure that I've cover the whole car.

What product did you order?
