FIRST Detail. FIRST TIME with rotory. (Only partly finished)

Hi everyone... just joined the site a few weeks ago and started getting my products in the mail. I've used a PC before for glazing my new cars but thats it. I decided to try my rotary out on a friend's car. The car has seen better days so there would be no need for caring if a mistake was made. Unfortunately its a white car and I"m not sure that I would be able to see my mistakes as well as if it were black. Anyway, I've only managed to use the rotory on the trunk and a little bit of the hood. It seemed to take a long time to cut through all the problems on the car. The pictures don't do it justice. The finish was like white sandpaper at best with absolutely zero shine. Here's what I've accomplished so far....

Here is the car.

before trunk. Notice that faint white line on the trunk is the "reflection" of my flourecent light.

I used the rotory with a heavy cutting pad with SSR3 then medium cut pad with SSR2.5, then switched to the PC with cutting pad and SSR1, then Mezerna IP, then Mother's sealer/glaze, then NXT. This is a project. It's going to take at least a week. (My friend is in Europe for the week so i have time)

good job to me for the first time with a rotary, is that single stage paint??

looks like it.....

anyway great job so far and keep showing the pics as u go

Do you have to switch to the pc for the SSR1 ?

I would think it would be quicker to just keep with the rotary as long as possible.

BTW, i am very impressed with those pics :)

Very nice! especially for a white car. I can't wait till get my Makita this week hopefully. I think you should be site moderator for that kind of work:woot: AR

thanks all for the help in the other forum!!! THE HOOD IS DONE!:bounce

Sean,

I am so not up to trying to wheel the sides of the car. I'm afraid that is going to be pretty rough. Not looking forward to it.. :(
