First detail and I went big :)

if you are gonna do it, why not really do it. Did my parents navigator as my first detail w/ my PC. Just did the paint, didn't do any trim or anything as it was 90+ today. Started at 6:30 A.M.

used DACP followed by #80 Speed Glaze both w/ polishing pads, then used NXT w/ a Finishing pad.

results weren't as good as I expected, I wanted more reflection, but the car is about 5 years old and had never been waxed to my knowledge ( i do all the waxing for the family cars and hadn't ever done this)

I need to work on my picture taking skills :)

It looks super nice to me. Silver is a very unfulfilling color for a detailer. You can spend all day on it and it only looks marginally better, but I can sure tell you did good work on it.

hey how did you apply your DACP on silver? Im curious because im getting left over hazing after using it till dust.. could u tell me your procedure? thanks! would be much help

The combo you used would probably be better on dark colored cars, but it still looks great.

Vinny-- DACP needs to be followed with a less agressive polish ie; #9 if you experience hazing.

What are your visitors? Peacocks?

I went camping about a month ago, and at day break there were wild turkeys running all over the place. Boy, were they noisey!

Yea, next week i'm doing a black land cruiser, that'll be fun, i'm a little nervous though.

Looks like you could have some orange peel issues (judging by the side panel close-up) that would affect overall shine and reflection. Still looks pretty good in the sun shots.

I think most cars these days have some orange peel issues unfortunately. When I was washing my dads vette it's real bad on that thing.

#80 after DACP will work, but you only "need" the abrasiveness of #82 or #9. (I use #9 after DACP on my black car, it works well)

#80 will definately work (well) but I've found I don't need to go as aggressive as #80 after DACP, #82 or #9 works. The positive with having #80 in your arsenal is that you have that step in between DACP and a SMR.
