First Click and Brag...1995 Camaro Z28

Here's my first post to Click and Brag....forgive the car's shape. The couple I bought it from lived on a dirt road and even though it was well maintained, the paint was horrible. It's come a long way and I finally got the black Z28 I always wanted. This is a work in progress that I'll hopefully finish tomorrow morning and get some full-sun shots.

Process:

Meg's DACP - Meg's polishing pad

Meg's #80 - polishing pad

RMG - finishing pad

Natty's Blue (x2) by hand

Meg's Hyper-Dressing 1:1 on tires

I promise if I wasn't planning a wedding and buying a house soon I'd already have wheels!

It looks very shiny :) Good job with it.

I understand your comment about the paints shape but I am sure it looks 100Xs better now though. :2thumbs:

Looks good! I like the emblems. ;) Your wheels are still dirty. lol, J/K, I know they are impossible to get perfect. Have any mods yet?

You should see the wheels in person, the clearcoat is almost gone. I've done pretty much all I can do to them. As soon as I can save the money it'll have charcoal spoked TT2s. I've got a few bolt-ons. It's got cold air intake, Pacesetter longtubes, offroad ypipe, computer tuning, and Spintech exhaust. Looking at 4.10s next since it'll probably never see a set of slicks. I've also got a Berger-style rear panel with the same emblem in the middle and a 5.7 emblem from a GTO. Just a little something to make it different. I've seen your's several times since I've been on here, it's a beatiful ride. Those ZO6's look nice!

Thanks for the replys....

Thanks man. Sounds like you have a very nice car yourself. Cant wait to see more pics. Should be perfectly done when your done, but there is no such thing as done. lol I gotta get me a damn rear end now, so more go fast mods will have to wait yet again. Those 5.7 emblems look good, I was thinking of getting one for my car, but also want to fill in the PONTIAC and get a WS7 badge (all brushed), but it would probably look too cluttered. What kinda times you putting out? BTW how do you like the Pacesetters? I bought some, but haven't put them on yet.

BTW my brother had a 94 Z28, so I know about those damn wheels. lol

Excellent looking paint, especially considering the car's age! I too like the old style Z/28 emblems--but they came stock on the 1974 Z/28 I had! I'm glad too, since the optional stripes in '74 were hideous!

Looking forward to the sun pics. :)

Thanks for all the compliments, it means alot!

Pontman, I've actually never been to the track....yet. That's strange too cause I live within an hour of 3 1/8th mile tracks. It'd probably be in the 14s though, since I can light the tires up from a roll in 2nd. The car isn't that fast either, it's just the tires don't hook for anything. The pacesetters are great, but were a PITA to put on. It took me and my dad about 7 hours with no problems, but about an hour of that was fabricating my "catalytic converter" :lol . Gotta love no emissions testing! It was all worth it though, it felt like a completely different car. Go for the emblem, that's kinda what I did. I filled in the camaro letters in the back panel and put a 69 emblem.

Here's some daylight pics...

Here's one of the rear, sorry for the poor quality.

Nice! I dont think it would 14s though and if it does you really need new tires. lol I ran 13.8 @98 stock.

That last ones sick! Looks great with the Camaro filled. Definetly different.

Oh ya and by fill in the PONTIAC, I ment inserts, not like yours (which looks great), the bumpers on the TAs are too flexible to do that. IMO

Ah, I gotcha. The panel actually has been done twice, the first time it was gloss black and looked pretty good for a rattle can job. I wetsanded and everything, but the filler cracked. When I refinished it this summer I used fiberglass filler and haven't had a problem since.

The car feels quick and if I had to guess, I'd say 13.7-13.9 area, but the tires are Goodyear Eagle GTIIs and have a treadwear rating of over 400. I haven't been exactly easy on them the year and a half I've had the car, especially since it's an 6 speed, but I can't tell that they've worn at all. With slicks and someone who can actually hit a 2-3 shift well, it might suprise me and run faster.

Hey you should get a smoothlocks for the rear lock, that is if you have keyless entry. It will clean it up even more. ;)
