First off, I'm the worst picture taker ever, so I usually don't even bother to try.
Anyways, this was a freebie for my mother in law. She's always doing stuff for us (DDing, having us over for dinner, doggy-sitting, etc), so I thought it was time for a little repayment..
Car was dirty, but overall in pretty good shape. Light swirls, but several pretty decent scratches that needed attention..
Basic Process:
Wash
Clay w/ megs smooth surface. Normally use clay magic blue, but since I wasn't doing a full correction, I wanted to rule out any chance of marring the soft honda paint.
Wheels Tires & wells with Amazing roll off.
Spot polish deeper scratches/marring & whole hood/trunklid with Menz SIP/Orange & green CCS 7.5"/Makita rotary @ 1500
106ff/blue LC 7.5"/makita @ 1000 to ensure no holograms in those areas
quick Wash again to remove any dust/oils
Dress wells with AA foam
tires dressed with megs hot shine
Ultima Paint prep plus / PC7424 spd 6 / 5.5" orange over the whole car
Ultima Paint Guard plus on everything (paint/trim/glass/lights/etc)
Also got a quick vac/interior & jamb wipedown somewhere in there.
First Impressions..
Paint prep plus:
Fast and easy to use. Practically disappeared into the paint and was really easy to wipe off any residue. Did very little in the way of correction for me, but it may do a little better as I learn to use it. Still leaves a freshly polished look and definitely adds some gloss to the paint. I did not feel like it added to or took away from the areas that were hit with the rotary/106ff, other than adding a little slickness. But the reflections were not quite crisp on the panels that were not hit with the rotary.. Nothing that the average eye will ever see.
Paint Guard plus:
This was my first experience with a WOWA product. A definite time saver. I had zero problems with this stuff streaking, and it looks as good as anything I've used, and better than alot of it. Slickness was through the roof. Total time was maybe 10 minutes to cover everything, and a little goes a very very long way. Took me roughly 14 sprays from the sample bottle to cover every exterior surface, and the bottle still looks practically full.. So price per application its probably not that much more expensive than anything else out there, although I haven't run the math part of that yet. I still plan on trying Opti-seal and Zaino CS before I order a bottle, but if the durability is there, I think we've got a winner. Maybe not on my personal cars other than the winter months, but customers love durability.
Overall a very pleasant experience with both of them, and thats something that doesn't happen all that often with me and new products.
Few pics.. No befores, and not much as far as afters go, but I'm not very good at this photography stuff. I couldn't make anything full sun turn out worth looking at, but it looked great, I promise
. I will try again the next time I'm around it.
