Fireworks and latent consequences for paint

Just wanted to share an observation that Im sure has crossed others minds when it comes to seeing fireworks being shot off in a residential area or anywhere near vehicles for that matter.

Obviously this stuff explodes in the air and them comes down back to the ground, pelting cars with sometimes still burning embers. So of course last night I got a lot of crap for parking my truck (upwind) two blocks away and walking- lol...but I'm just not willing to take the risk of something falling on the clear coat and literally burning through it or putting a nice scratch on there.

Am I just ocd, paranoid or has anyone else found themselves worried about this as well?

I am more concerned/afraid of falling ammo. My neighborhood sounds like a war zone every New Years/July 4th

:(

Everybody around here loves their fireworks no matter what holiday. I live in a private neighborhood so I don't have to worry about it as much. However, the neighbors brat great grand kids were setting off fireworks in the driveway (that is no more than 50' from the back of the house). I came unglued when they had one misfire and the burning embers were landing in the yard and ontop of the house and vehicles. Didn't notice any damage on our vehicles or house luckily.

so there are these three metal drainage tubes under the street right in between the house we were at and their next door neighbor, who was also over at the house we were at.

my friend's wife tried to throw some grenade type projectile into one of the metal tubes just like this other pyro guy was doing all night (it made a spark and then a very loud boom that shook the ground,it was actually pretty cool as far as an effect)
anyways she was a little intoxicated and completely missed the hole, landing the thing right next to this chrysler pacifica. luckily nothing bad happened that i could see except for a little grass catching on fire

we had one 12 round thing explode and fall over and shoot towards the garage (which had over $1000 of large grade fireworks in it

that was a rush lol

I don't worry too much about it... However, my neighbor in Chicago had a fire on his roof (that burned/charred the area pretty bad) one 4th of July.

no worries here. BUT if you own a jeep with a SOFT TOP this can be a big issue. also with people throwing out cigs in front of you.... (had this happen to a buds soft top)!

I'm right there with you. Except I hear them almost every night. There were quite a few on NYE but it was actually a few days before that there was some sort of fire fight about a block away. I never even hear sirens after them but some do show up on http://www.crimemapping.com/:(

As to the fireworks we get a ton of those too and try to never park on the street on New Year's Eve or the 4th of July. I more worried about the roof of the house though.
