Fire Truck Bid

I need to do a bid on a fire truck, they want a two step on the paint and the diamond plate buff out. Was thinking about charging them $12.00 foot for the two step on the paint. I know the diamond plate is going to be the worst part about this job. I have very little experience with diamond plate, so any tip you give me on this part of the job would be appreciated.

I have a trailer with a lot of diamond plate. To polish it, I use a palm turtlewax polisher. It works great and gets in the odd places when doing the final buff with the pad. I used to detail big rigs and used a drill bit polisher which is the same thing. It is a little work, but the results are worth it.

I did a couple of engines a few years back , I think I charged them close to $1200 a rig that included all the diamond plate and chrome and boy there is alot on those rigs. If memory serves me correct I polished them out and then put AIO and two coats of SG. I would not reccomend doing the rig by yourself and make sure you allow at least two days to really do it right. You'll need a rotary and some wool pads for the diamond plate.
