Finally The Explorer Got Detailed

I went over to Jngrbrdman (Anthony) to help me get started in detailing my vehicle. Anthony checked out the paint before I started to wash, said it looked pretty good, but had some minor spider webbing on the hood. I did the wash (got to use a WW), then clayed with Final Inspection. Anthony inspected the hood again and decided to try Meg's Diamond Cut. We just finally decided to NXT (using a PC) the vehicle and see what it would look like, well it turned out pretty good. Anthony's help was very appreciated. The next day I did a QD with Final Inspection and applied S100. The S100 brought out a little bit deeper white, which in my opinion looks great. Looks good. Why would you guys decide to use Megs Diamond Cut on a hood with minor spider webbing? That stuff is about as abrasive as it gets.

I was just curious about how it would work out on the hood. The truck had never been polished and I would call the swirls a little more than just minor. Since it is a white vehicle you really can't see most of them without looking through polarized sunglasses or something. I used some Diamond cut on part of the hood just to see how much of the damage was swirls and how much was scratches that would need to be handled differently. It turned out to be a situation where cutting the whole truck with something like Diamond Cut wouldn't really have been necessary and we decided to give NXT a shot at removing what it could. It did a very good job. As usual, the NXT took out about 50% or more of the swirling.
